My Ideal Home:
• I'll need daily exercise - walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• Ongoing training and guidance with basic manners will help me grow into a well-behaved companion.
• I want to be part of the family indoors - not left outside without interaction.
• Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
• I'd love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
• Most importantly, I'm looking for lots of love and attention from my family.
• Due to my timid nature, it would be best to go to a home with calm, respectful older children – loud noises will scare me and I will hide
• I get along well with other gentle, friendly dogs. Happy to live with another dog that isn’t too boisterous. Otherwise, if you are home a lot I would love to be your snuggle buddy.
• With a slow and thoughtful introduction, I may be okay to live with a gentle, quiet cat.

My Paw-some Perks:
• I appear housetrained
• I know how to sit when asked
• I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I'm quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
• I do love my toys, especially soft ones. I would love to learn how to play with my family.

Training & Support Needs:
• I can be scared of thunder and fireworks. I'll need a safe, secure space to retreat to, along with comfort and reassurance from my family.
• I can be shy at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue with my socialisation with lots of positive cuddles and reassurance along the way.
• While I am gentle taking treats from you, I do like my space during dinner time until I know you aren’t going to take it away from me.

Please Note: You'll only be able to meet Sabre if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well
