My Ideal Home:
• I need to have a doggy companion to keep me company and show me the ropes. I was timid when arriving at the shelter but have become trusting and playful since being around other dogs.
• I’ll need daily exercise — walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• I want to be part of the family indoors — not left outside without interaction.
• As a social and playful pup, I may really enjoy attending doggy daycare.
• Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
• A good-quality dry food diet will help support my dental health.
• Regular grooming and brushing will keep me looking and feeling my best.
• Most importantly, I’m looking for lots of love and attention from my family.
• Because I can be shy in new situations, a home without little ones who may accidentally startle me would suit me best.
• A quiet home with no young children (under 12) would suit me best, as I’m easily startled and need a calm environment where I can feel safe and secure.
• I’m used to a quiet, mature household and would love a similar environment.
• I’m quite shy when I first meet new people, so I’ll need a family who will give me time and space to settle in at my own pace, without pressure.
• With a slow and thoughtful introduction, I may be able to live with a cat.

My Paw-some Perks:
• I’m gentle and placid in nature, and I’ve had some basic obedience training — I’m generally a well-mannered dog.
• I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I’m quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans but only once I’ve settled, decompressed and get to know you.

Training:
• My recall needs work, as I can sometimes ignore you if I’m distracted — this is something we’ll need to practice together.
• I’m shy when meeting new people and in unfamiliar environments, and I can be extremely timid when entering buildings or homes. I’ll need a patient family who will allow me indoors, move at my pace, and gently build my confidence through ongoing socialisation.
• I may initially shy away from things going over my head (like a lead), but I warm up quickly and my fun, lively personality soon shines through.
• I can be scared of thunder and fireworks, and may bark or whine during storms. I’ll need a safe, secure space to retreat to, along with comfort and reassurance from my family.

Please Note: You’ll only be able to meet Bailey if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well
