About Brandi - 3 Year Old Staffy X Shar Pei
Brandi is a 3-year-old Staffy x Shar Pei who has captured the hearts of everyone she meets. Affectionate, playful, and incredibly resilient, she’s ready to find the forever home she deserves.
Brandi returned to our care after suffering a serious leg injury that required ligament surgery. Unfortunately, her recovery was complicated by a bone infection, turning what should have been a short rehabilitation into a six-month journey. Despite everything she’s been through, Brandi has remained happy, loving, and determined.
Brandi absolutely adores her people and simply wants to be wherever you are. Whether she’s curled up beside you on the couch, soaking up the sunshine in the backyard, or quietly following you from room to room, she’s happiest when she’s part of the family. She has a wonderfully cheeky, playful side and loves a game of tug-of-war, playing hide-and-seek with her foster carers, and heading out for her daily walks. Brandi is incredibly food motivated and picks up new training quickly.
Brandi’s ideal home would be with a family who will continue supporting her recovery while including her in everyday life. As a result of her injury, she has developed early arthritis, so her future family will need to be committed to helping manage her condition by maintaining a healthy weight, continuing her strengthening exercises and providing appropriate daily exercise. She can be strong on the lead and is currently reactive to other dogs while walking, so she'll need owners who are committed to continuing her training.
Brandi will need a home with a secure yard with high fencing and people who are home more often than not. Due to her strength and love of rough play, she'd be best suited to a home with older children. She is not suited to living with cats or pocket pets, and any potential doggy companions would need to be assessed, as she has spent the past six months recovering on her own.
Brandi has proven just how resilient she is, but more than anything she's looking for a family who will love her for the wonderful dog she is. In return, she'll reward you with unconditional love and a best friend for life.
