This lovely big boy is Cosmo and he's really hoping to find a loving, kind someone to open their heart and home to him. Cosmo is timid of new people when he first meets them, however the way to his heart is through his stomach, and if you feed him, he soon starts to warm up and soon you'll have a fluffy new friend. Cosmo loves company and will follow you around once he trusts you. We don't know how Cosmo is with children.

After Cosmo was rescued from the pound, the vet conducted the usual tests, and found that he was positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). FIV can't be passed onto people or dogs, and he is in good health. With good food and a gentle home, cats with FIV can have just as long a lifespan as non positive cats, although it does mean Cosmo will be more vulnerable to picking up infections, so he really will be best as an indoor-only cat (although this curious and adventurous boy would love a secure outdoor enclosure to spend time outside if possible). FIV can be passed to other cats through deep bites if they get into a fight, so it's safest if Cosmo lives in a home where he's the only cat, although he could share a home with a gentle cat as he is a big softie himself. Cosmo could also live happily with dogs as he is unfazed by the dogs in his foster home.

If you like to help the special animals, the ones who others scroll past, but who form the strongest and most loyal bonds, then sweet Cosmo could be the boy for you.

MEDICAL NOTES
Adoption fee includes vet check, vaccination, flea and worm treatment, microchip - including the transfer of ownership - and sterilisation.
Cosmo has FIV. He is currently healthy however FIV leads to a weakened immune system leaving cats more vulnerable to infections than regular cats. Vet visits every six months, good quality food, living indoors only, and a low stress environment, are recommended for FIV positive cats.

ADOPTION DETAILS
To apply to adopt, please complete a SAFE Cat Adoption Enquiry Form via our website. You will be advised if your chosen cat is still available and then put in contact with the carer for a chance to ask further questions. If a meet-and-greet is then arranged, we will email the adoption paperwork and payment instructions to you prior to this. Please note payment must be made before adoption trial starts and we are unable to take cash payment.

Our adoption process includes a two-week trial to ensure your chosen cat is the right fit for your home. After a successful trial period, SAFE Bunbury will arrange transfer of ownership on your new pet's microchip and email copies of their vet records out to you.
