About Eddie
To help Eddie find the right match, please read his home requirements carefully before applying. Due to the high level of interest we expect to receive, only applicants who meet these requirements will be contacted.
🏡 Someone must be home at all times. Eddie is currently unable to be left alone while he works through his separation anxiety.
❤️ Adults only. Eddie is not suitable for a home with children.
🐾 No other pets. Eddie is very fearful of other animals and needs to be the only pet so he can feel safe and focus on building his confidence.
🌳 A quiet suburban home with a secure backyard. Apartments and busy inner city environments won't suit Eddie.
Eddie is a young Cavoodle whose start to life was anything but fair.
For the first seven months of his life, Eddie lived in a garage with very little human contact and no exposure to life outside those four walls. Because of this, almost everything is unfamiliar and overwhelming. New people, different environments, loud noises, and other animals can all be frightening for him.
But behind that fear is an incredibly special little dog.
Once Eddie trusts you, he gives you his whole heart. He'll quietly follow you from room to room, curl up beside you, and look to you for comfort and reassurance. The bond you'll build with Eddie won't happen overnight, but it will be one of the most rewarding relationships you could ask for.
Eddie is looking for adopters who understand that confidence can't be rushed. His world needs to stay very small while he settles into his new home, and he'll need slow, thoughtful introductions to new experiences only when he's truly ready. Right now, his biggest adventure is learning that home is a safe place.
Eddie is currently taking behavioural medication to support his separation anxiety. Together, we'll work through a gradual desensitisation program with our Trainer to help him learn that being left alone is safe. During this time, Eddie cannot be left alone, which is why we're looking for a home where someone is always present.
