About Busby
Meet Busby 🐾
If your dream dog is a tiny best friend who loves cuddles, leisurely mornings, and celebrating every achievement with a treat, then Busby may just be your perfect match.
This sweet little Mini Foxy cross is an affectionate soul who absolutely adores being close to his people. Whether it's curling up beside you on the couch, soaking up pats, or snuggling in for a sleep-in, Busby is happiest when he's sharing life's quieter moments with someone he loves. Did we mention the ears? GLORIOUS!
Unlike those dogs who are up at dawn ready to conquer the world, Busby firmly believes mornings are for sleeping in. Once he's fully awake, though, you'll see his playful side emerge! He loves tossing around his soft toys, working away at his kibble ball, playing fetch, and showing off the tricks he's learned in exchange for a tasty reward. Clever and food-motivated, he's always keen to learn something new.
Busby can be a little cautious when meeting new people or exploring unfamiliar places. He likes to take his time, but once he realises he's safe, his loving personality shines through. He's currently working hard on building his confidence and independence and has already made fantastic progress. With patient guidance and encouragement, there's no doubt he'll continue to blossom.
Walks are still a work in progress for this sensitive boy. Things like people, cars, and other dogs can sometimes feel overwhelming, so he'll need adopters who understand that confidence-building is a journey, not a race. The good news? Busby is trying his best every day and responds beautifully to gentle encouragement.
One thing you won't have to worry about is noise, Busby is remarkably quiet and rarely barks, even when other dogs are making a fuss, he does however howl when left alone a little too long. He's also wonderfully well-behaved during bath time, proving that good manners come in small packages!
Busby's Ideal Home 🏡
Busby is looking for a calm, patient home where he won't be left alone for long periods on a regular basis. A quieter neighbourhood (out of the city) would suit him best, giving him the space he needs to feel comfortable around people, dogs, and everyday activity.
His future family should be excited about continuing his confidence-building journey and celebrating all the little wins along the way. As Busby has a talent for investigating small plastic items, these should be kept safely out of reach.
Kids & Other Pets 🐶🐱
Busby would prefer an adult-only home or one with older teenagers. Young children can be a little overwhelming for him, and if children do visit, he'll appreciate having a quiet retreat where he can relax.
He's been non-reactive to cats he's met on walks, but he isn't recommended for a home with pet rodents.
When it comes to dogs, Busby is more nervous than social. He can coexist with calm, neutral dogs after careful introductions, and he may benefit from having a confident canine friend to walk alongside. However, he doesn't necessarily need another dog living in the home.
The Perfect Match ❤️
Busby is searching for someone who understands that the most rewarding dogs aren't always the boldest ones. He's a gentle, loving little companion who will repay patience and kindness with endless affection, loyal companionship, and plenty of cosy cuddles.
If you're looking for a sweet, sensitive sidekick to share slow mornings, quiet adventures, and lots of love, Busby can't wait to meet you.

We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
