If you’re looking for a dog who will make you laugh, follow you around like your shadow and love you with his whole heart… you need to meet Beaver.

Beaver is a young, goofy, affectionate lad who genuinely doesn’t have a mean bone in his body.

He loves nothing more than laying his full body weight on you when he’s ready for a snooze and will happily keep your legs warm in winter by leaning into you while you are doing the dishes.

He’s curious. He’s clever. He’s playful.

….And he’s just a little bit stubborn.

Beaver has opinions. Strong ones.

Sometimes his brain says “yes, I know what you want me to do”… while his heart says “but what if I simply… didn’t?”

And honestly? It’s part of what makes him Beaver.

He’s currently living his best life in foster care, where he’s discovered that having a resident dog means having a personal role model and playmate. He’s also starting to learn the joy of toys, he must not have had any in his previous home 🥺

Whatever his doggy foster brother is doing, Beaver wants to be doing too. If he’s not snoozing or soaking up human attention, he wants to be right there beside his canine buddy.

He absolutely adores other dogs. He loves making new friends, playing chase and being part of the action. He’s affectionate and wonderfully goofy.

He’s even surprisingly respectful of his much smaller foster brother, and when they’re winding down for the night, Beaver likes to give him gentle little “love nibbles” with his front teeth.

✨ Keeps all four paws on the floor

✨ Has come leaps and bounds in learning to be a calm and respectful canine citizen

Beaver would thrive with either mature canine sibling who enjoys a good play but also appreciates some downtime or another young playful dog. Ideally, they won’t mind having a shadow up in their business!

He could also live as an only dog, but his humans would need to keep that clever brain busy with training, enrichment (he would love a sand pit!) and sniffy walks.

And then there’s the side-eye 👀

Beaver is the undisputed king of it — especially when he knows he should be listening to you.

He knows. You know he knows. And he knows that you know.

But here’s the important bit…
Beaver is still a pup.

He has so much potential and has grown immeasurably in maturity in the weeks he’s spent in care.

Give him the guidance he needs and in return, you’ll get a loyal, affectionate, hilarious best friend who will love you with everything he has.
