About Norbert
Meet Norbert: An affectionate 5-year-old gentleman who has been through so much!
Norbert's story is one of resilience and a heart that has never stopped loving.
Born safely in Ninth Life Foundation's care after his mum, Poppy, was rescued from the pound while pregnant, Norbert should have had the perfect start to life. Instead this sweet boy has already experienced more heartbreak than most cats ever should. Despite being adopted three separate times, every return has been through no fault of his own. A change of mind, financial hardship during COVID and later another family's change in circumstances all meant Norbert found himself at Ninth Life Foundation once again.
Yet through it all, Norbert has remained the same gentle, affectionate and endlessly curious soul. Although he may be shy at first, once he feels comfortable, he sometimes loves to perch on your shoulder to see the world from above and finds endless joy in life's simple pleasures - watching running water, splashing in his water bowl, chasing feather toys and batting his favourite ping pong ball across the floor. He adores affection and will happily rub against your face and curl into your body to show just how much he loves you. His ability to love despite everything he's been through is nothing short of remarkable.
Although he has always lived with his mum Poppy, they are not bonded and are ready to begin their own separate journeys. Norbert would love a home with another friendly cat to keep him company, and in return, he'll reward you with endless affection, playful antics and a loyal companion who has been waiting far too long for the forever home he truly deserves.
If you’re searching for a gentle, affectionate, playful, inquisitive companion, Norbert is the one for you.

Adoption details
You need to be a pretty special cat person to adopt an elderly cat into your home. Not as sprightly as a kitten they still require your attention…even devotion. You’ll need to understand their daily routines and take some time to get to know them. Help them with grooming – a great way to bond- as they often don’t have the energy to do it properly themselves. Older cats are stress averse so be patient, observant and take a little more care of their health needs and you’ll soon have a loving companion.
All our cats have received a full health & wellness check and are ready for their new home.
