My Ideal Home:
• Familiarity and understanding of my breed traits would be highly valued.
• I’ll need daily exercise — walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• Ongoing training and guidance with basic manners will help me grow into a well-behaved companion.
• I want to be part of the family indoors — not left outside without interaction.
• Secure fencing is essential to keep me safe.
• I’d love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
• Most importantly, I’m looking for lots of love and attention from my family.
• I have previously lived with young children, however when I get excited I can be a little bouncy, so any children in the home would need to feel comfortable and confident around an energetic, enthusiastic dog joining the family.
• I’d love a friendly dog playmate — or, if I’m your only dog, regular opportunities to socialise with other dogs. As I didn’t have much experience interacting with other dogs before arriving at the shelter, I can be unsure how to behave around them initially. I become comfortable around them quite quickly, further continued positive socialisation to build my confidence will be beneficial.
• With a slow and thoughtful introduction, I would be ok to go to a home with a dog friendly cat.

• I’m highly food motivated, which makes training lots of fun and helps me learn quickly.
• I am super clever & already know how to sit, shake hands, lay down, wait & go to bed
• I am crate trained, housetrained (mostly) and am used to being allowed indoors as part of the family.
• I LOVE car rides
• I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I’m quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
• I LOVE toys — ball is LIFE!!
• I’m exuberant and full of beans, always ready for fun and adventure.
• I’m intelligent, enthusiastic, and would thrive with a family who’ll continue my training and maybe even teach me some cool new tricks.
• I will make a wonderful companion & adventure buddy <3

Training & Support Needs:
• I can be a little bouncy when excited, but consistent training will help me learn calmer behaviours.

Please Note: You’ll only be able to meet Opie if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well
