About Pickles & Rocky
Introducing Rocky & Pickles!
Rocky is a Mini Dachshund born 5th August 2024.
Pickles is a Mini Foxie x Jack Russell born 19th June 2024.
Both of these gorgeous boys were brought into the facility as strays. While Rocky did have a microchip, Pickles did not. When we spoke to Rocky's owner she advised that even though she brought Pickles into their home after he was abandoned by his previous owner, she maintains she is not his current owner. She refused to collect either dog & surrendered them for rehoming.
Since being at the facility, Rocky has been a little pocket rocket. He's full of confidence, excitement & enthusiasm for life in general. He's very affectionate with every human he meets, but he does get sidetracked easily & follows his nose as soon as he smells something interesting.
Sweet little Pickles is much more reserved and can be quite shy when meeting new people & going to new places. Once he gets to know you he is a gentle & affectionate little soul who just needs a safe space to rest his head. Pickles definitely gets more confidence when he's with Rocky.
These boys are very bonded & must be rehomed together.
Rocky tested very well with other dogs at the facility. He is very excited to meet friends of all sizes & didn't seem too fazed when a boisterous Great Dane x kept trying to squish him.
Pickles was a lot more timid when meeting our larger & more boisterous dogs. He spent the entire time trying to climb into his handler's lap for safety, however he was a lot more comfortable when meeting another small dog. While he wasn't overly playful with them, he happily stood next to them & had a few sniffs.
We believe Rocky & Pickles could be suitable to live with another dog (preferably a small breed or a calm medium-large breed) or they'd be happy being the spoilt only "children" at home. If you have a friendly dog at home we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
They are currently untested with cats & pocket pets.
Both boys have shown no signs of food aggression or separation anxiety (as long as they're together) since being at the facility.
If you think you could be that furever family for Pickles & Rocky, please contact our friendly staff via email at ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com or 0499 900272 to organise a meet and greet.
Their adoption fee is $1000, and this includes their desexing, vaccination and lifetime registration. They are also regularly treated for fleas and worms.
These gorgeous boys are currently located in East Maitland.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
