Meet Gideon Your Affectionate Silver Tabby Companion 🐱❤️

Looking for a 3-year-old silver tabby who’s incredibly loving, social, and happiest when he’s near his people? Say hello to Gideon, a ridiculously affectionate boy with a heart of gold and the softest, most beautiful coat.

Gideon came to us from the RSPCA after a few unlucky returns from homes that weren’t quite the right fit. The moment he arrived with his foster carer he settled in happily, claimed his favourite spots, and showed himself to be the affectionate, easy-going companion he is.

Gideon, affectionately known as G-Man, is the kind of cat who will happily climb into your lap, purr like a motorboat, and melt into long, contented cuddle sessions. He adores company and will come over to say hello, check if a lap is on offer, then settle nearby on his own terms. He particularly loves sleeping the day away on a woolen blanket close to you, or simply watching the world go by from a sunny, outward-facing window.

You’ll notice his comical little bounce as he moves from room to room, trademark full fluffy tail held high. His coat is truly special, soft swirls of grey and black with charming white tufts at the ears. He’s a gorgeous cat through and through.

Gideon is a little bit clingy at times but doesn’t constantly demand attention. He usually enjoys a gentle pat (preferably on his terms), and he doesn’t mind being picked up and cuddled briefly if you know what you’re doing. He has a couple of mild warning nips if certain spots (like his right shoulder) are over-stimulated, but these are just little communications, he never bites to break the skin.

In the evenings he has his own endearing routines: a bit of galloping up and down the hallway, playful meows and interesting little noises, and the occasional gentle nibble at your feet. When it’s time for sleep he settles into a warm ball right beside you and keeps you company through the night.

Gideon’s ideal home

A calm, cat-savvy home with someone who appreciates a loving, social boy who enjoys company on his own terms. He thrives with people who give him affection, a comfy woolen blanket, and a window view of the world. He would also do incredibly well in a home that already has a cat around his age as he is incredibly social and really needs a friend.

In return, Gideon offers endless warmth, soft purrs, and the kind of devoted companionship that makes a house feel like a home. He’s ready to finally settle into his forever family.

Gideon is approximately 3 years old, desexed, vaccinated and microchipped, and currently living in Ringwood with his wonderful foster family.

About Us

Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.

Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.

Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.

As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.

All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.

Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
