Ivan is the definition of a lovebug. This guy lives for affection. Give him some quality pats, neck scratches, or ear rubs and he’ll melt into a purring puddle of happiness. He’s the type of cat who will follow you from room to room, happily chatting away with his very vocal “meow” opinions, and then plop himself right next to you (or on you) for maximum cozy time. Nothing makes him happier than being your personal heated blanket on the couch.

Ivan’s Greatest Hits :

This energetic boy turns any hallway into his personal Olympic track with zoomies and impressive somersaults. He’s a self-appointed corner connoisseur who enthusiastically rubs his face on every single one he meets. He’s a professional mouse hunter who loves playing with his beloved stuffed mouse toys, and a certified window bird watcher who can spend hours staring and chattering at the feathered entertainment outside. But above all, he’s a champion cuddler who will happily glue himself to your side for maximum warmth and snuggles.

Ivan is a total people person. Everyone who meets him comments on what a beautiful, sweet-natured cat he is. He adjusted to his foster home in record time and has been all purrs, cuddles, and charm ever since.

A little bit about Ivan’s story:

He was deeply loved by his previous owner, who adopted him the same day they met (he sealed the deal by immediately rubbing his face on their hand). Ivan helped heal a broken heart after the loss of another cat and brought so much joy.

Unfortunately, when his owner moved in with their partner and young children (and later became pregnant), they discovered Ivan isn’t a fan of little kids. Despite trying for months, it just wasn’t the right fit.

He also doesn’t get along with other cats. After some time in another home with cats, it was clear he needs a peaceful environment where he can be the one and only star of the show.

Ivan’s ideal home:

He’s looking for a quiet, stable, and loving home, ideally adult-only or with older children (7–8 years and up). As a true solo king, Ivan does best without other cats. He’s generally fine with dogs (he mostly just ignores them), and he’ll thrive with a patient human who understands that he can sometimes get a little overstimulated and nippy, he’ll politely let you know when he’s had enough!

In return, Ivan promises endless entertainment, ridiculous antics, loud conversations, and the kind of devoted love that makes you wonder how you ever lived without a cat-shaped shadow following you everywhere.

Ivan is approximately 5 years old, has been desexed, microchipped and vaccinated and is currently located in Northcote with his amazing foster family.

About Us

Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.

Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.

Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.

As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.

All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.

Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
