About Wayne
Introducing Wayne!
Wayne is a Great Dane x born approx 8th April 2025.
Wayne was brought to the facility as an unmicrochipped stray & sadly no one came looking for him.
Since being at the facility, Wayne has been a delight to care for. He's incredibly sweet, affectionate, playful and an all-round love bug. While he does (sometimes) stand on his back legs to wrap his arms around you for a cuddle, he is a fairly gentle boy. It feels a bit like he's still working out what to do with his gangly legs & he behaves very much like a goofball puppy. He's very gentle when taking treats and we've all fallen in love with the big boof head.
Wayne tested very well with other dogs. He was incredibly playful with every dog he met (both large & small), however he can get a little boisterous and in his excitement he throws his paws around which can accidentally squish some smaller dogs. There is absolutely no malice in these actions, just a silly pup wanting to play. We believe Wayne would be suitable to live with another dog or be the spoilt only "child" at home. If you have a friendly dog at home we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Wayne is currently untested with cats & pocket pets.
Wayne has shown no signs of food aggression or separation anxiety since being at the facility.

Wayne’s adoption fee is $675, and this includes his desexing, vaccination and lifetime registration. Wayne is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.
Wayne is currently located in East Maitland.

If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
