About Panda
The most beautiful speckled egg, Panda Bear encapsulates all the best stereotypes of his breed. A gold star chiller, this snoozy couch potato is looking for a laid back lifestyle with a household just as relaxed and easygoing as he is. This very good boy doesn’t ask for much, two good sniffaris a day, some cuddles, a quiet cosy spot to nap, a shared snack or two.
Currently in foster care with a border collie mix who he is sweet and gentle with, Panda is prepared to play new brother to canine siblings in his forever home - but if he had WFH (or even better, retiree) humans with his independent nature he could easily live the life of a spoiled only child.
An excellent traveller, Panda loves the car (travel puts him right to sleep and he’ll snooze his way to your destination). He recently had a vacay at Phillip Island with his foster family, taking the new environment in stride and confidently navigating the stairs and new walking routes. He would make an excellent companion for road trips and holidays, and with no issues around resources or sleep spaces he might even enjoy caravan life if you are so inclined.
Not a big toy or playtime kind of guy, Panda’s enthusiasm is reserved for his most favourite thing - pigs ears. The ecstasy of such culinary delights cannot be contained, the dance begins with a play bow and little wiggle wiggle, then of course the best bit, big chomps! You’ll find yourself unable to do anything but watch and grin at the quirky goof, his joy contagious.
While not reactive on lead, Panda has been assessed as not small animal tolerant and would not be safe off lead around small dogs. We recommend that he not have any close contact particularly with toy breeds.
With all the best traits of a greyhound, in the cutest cowhound package, Panda is going to make a forever home very happy.

We’d love to help you find your greyhound match!
To get started, we’ll ask for a bit of information about your home and lifestyle on our application form. This helps us make sure we match you with a dog that suits your household and sets both of you up for success.
Many greyhounds come from racing kennels where they’re used to having other dogs around. Some can struggle being left completely alone, which can lead to signs of separation anxiety like barking or chewing.
Because of this, we usually look to rehome greyhounds into homes where they’ll have company - either human or canine - and not be left alone for more than four hours on a regular basis. If that’s not your setup right now, don’t worry as we’re happy to chat about options such as dog walkers, doggy daycare, or taking your greyhound to work.
Our Adoption Checklist:
To be considered for adoption, we ask that you have:
A secure, fully fenced yard (minimum height around hip height)
A home where the dog is allowed to sleep inside at night
A routine that doesn’t leave the dog home alone regularly for long periods (more than 4 hours) without people or another dog for company
