About Theo
🌿 Meet Theo a 1 Year and 5 Month old Toy Cavoodle 🌿
✨ "Small in size, huge in personality... and convinced every adventure is waiting just outside the gate!" ✨
Theo weighs 5.2kg
If you're looking for a little dog who will fill your home with laughter, love and just the right amount of mischief, then let us introduce you to the adorable Theo.
Theo is one of those dogs who wakes up every day excited to see what adventures lie ahead. Whether it's exploring a new walking track, racing around the backyard with his canine best friend, or simply sitting on the deck with the breeze ruffling his fluffy ears, Theo embraces life with pure joy. He has a beautiful, easy-going nature and finds happiness in the little things.
One thing you'll quickly learn about Theo... he's incredibly clever. Maybe a little too clever! This handsome boy considers himself quite the escape artist and has an uncanny ability to spot the tiniest gap in a fence. His previous home was on acreage where he regularly wandered off to visit the neighbours (and even their horses, who unfortunately weren't nearly as excited to see him as he was to see them!).
Because of this, Theo absolutely must have very secure fencing—Colourbond fencing or similarly secure fencing is essential. He cannot be rehomed to acreage or properties with rural fencing, wire fencing, or gaps he could squeeze through. Once the "adventure bug" kicks in, Theo is surprisingly fast for such a little fellow! Thankfully, he has lovely recall once he settles and focuses, but preventing those adventures from happening in the first place is the safest option.
🐾 A Happy Little Explorer
Theo is beautifully toilet trained and has excellent house manners. He happily heads outside first thing each morning for his toilet break and enjoys having access to a yard during the day where he can explore, sniff and keep himself entertained. He's a bright little boy who would likely master a doggy door in no time.
Although he has previously been crate trained, Theo would much rather curl up on a comfy dog bed—or even better, share his human's bed if allowed!
Like many Cavoodles, Theo has developed some rather fancy dining standards. He happily grazes on his biscuits throughout the day, but dinner is much more exciting when topped with juicy chicken, steak or another tasty treat. Food isn't his greatest motivator, although yoghurt drops hidden in enrichment toys are definitely a winner.
🐶 Active, Playful... Then Ready for a Nap
Theo has wonderfully balanced energy. He isn't bouncing off the walls all day, but he absolutely thrives on daily exercise and regular adventures.
Walks are one of his favourite parts of the day. Every tree, every smell, every passing dog is simply fascinating! His lead manners are still a work in progress—he zigzags enthusiastically and pulls with excitement—but luckily at just over 5kg he's easy to manage while continuing his training.
After a good walk or play session, Theo is more than happy to stretch out on the cool floor, relax on the deck or watch the world go by before recharging for his next adventure.
He isn't much of a barker either. He may join in if another dog starts barking or let you know if something surprises him, but overall he's a quiet little companion with a lovely temperament.
❤️ Everyone is Theo's Friend
Theo genuinely loves people.
He's lived happily with children from newborns through to teenagers and has proven himself to be gentle, affectionate and incredibly tolerant. He happily accepts cuddles, pats and attention, making him a wonderful family companion.
He also absolutely adores other dogs.
Big dogs, little dogs... Theo doesn't discriminate. He simply assumes everyone wants to be his friend! He especially loves games of chase and wrestling, and watching him zoom around the yard with another playful dog is guaranteed to make you smile.
For this reason, we'd love to see Theo join a home with another friendly, playful dog who enjoys companionship and interactive play. Having another dog has helped Theo settle beautifully in foster care and really brings out his fun-loving personality.
Cats haven't been tested, although birds and seagulls are definitely something he'd love to chase if given the opportunity!
🛋️ Independent... But Always Nearby
Theo enjoys affection, but he isn't overly clingy.
He'll happily accept ear scratches and cuddles before wandering off to his favourite place on the couch or stretching out on the cool tiles while still keeping an eye on where everyone is. He's wonderfully independent while still loving being part of the family.
At bedtime, he's quite content sleeping on the bed with his humans and canine friends, although with consistency he'd likely settle happily into his own bed too.
✂️ Grooming
As a Cavoodle, Theo will require regular professional grooming along with routine brushing to keep his beautiful coat comfortable and tangle-free.
❤️ Theo's Perfect Home
Theo would thrive in a home that can match his adventurous spirit while keeping him safe.
His ideal family will enjoy daily walks, weekend adventures and giving him plenty of opportunities to explore safely. Mental enrichment, toys and interactive play will help keep this clever little boy occupied.
Most importantly, Theo must have secure, escape-proof fencing. This isn't negotiable. Colourbond fencing or similarly secure fencing is essential, and acreage or properties with rural fencing simply won't be suitable for this clever little explorer.
In return, you'll gain one of the happiest, funniest and most lovable little companions you could ever hope to meet—a fluffy adventurer who will keep you smiling every single day while filling your home with love, laughter and plenty of wagging tails.
Theo is ready for his next adventure... this time, with a family who can keep his explorations safely within the backyard. 🐾
