About Whisper
🐾🤍 Meet Whisper 🤍🐾
4 years and 8 months of gentle cuddles, wagging tails, long walks and one tiny obsession she just can't seem to shake... ❤️
If you've ever met a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, you'll know they're famous for one thing...
Loving their people.
And Whisper is every bit the Cavalier everyone falls in love with.
Sweet.
Gentle.
Affectionate.
And completely convinced that personal space is highly overrated.
At 4 years and 8 months old, Whisper has come into care through no fault of her own and is now searching for a family who will appreciate everything that makes Cavaliers such a treasured breed.
She has the most beautiful, calm nature.
She's happy to spend hours curled up on the lounge beside you, quietly snoozing while you watch television or read a book.
But don't let those sleepy eyes fool you...
The moment you pick up her lead, Whisper transforms into an enthusiastic walking companion who's ready to head off on her next adventure.
She happily enjoys two walks a day in foster care and could easily walk even further. Whether it's a quick stroll around the block or a couple of kilometres exploring together, Whisper simply loves being out with her people.
One of the lovely things about Whisper is how beautifully she matches the energy of the home she's in.
Feeling lazy?
She's more than happy to spend the afternoon snuggled beside you.
Feel like heading out for a walk?
She'll happily keep pace and enjoy every minute.
It's one of those wonderful Cavalier traits that makes them such easy companions.
Like most Cavaliers, Whisper absolutely adores people.
She doesn't just enjoy cuddles...
She believes cuddles should involve as much physical contact as possible.
If she could climb into your lap...
Then onto your shoulder...
And somehow become part of you...
She probably would.
Face kisses are freely given.
Belly rubs are enthusiastically accepted.
And if you're sitting down, Whisper will happily assume you've done so purely for her benefit.
Food is another great love of Whisper's.
In fact, if you ask her to rank her favourite things in life, it would probably be:
🥩 Food.
🤗 Cuddles.
🚶 Walks.
You'll rarely find yourself alone in the kitchen because Whisper likes to supervise meal preparation very closely—just in case something accidentally falls her way.
She's wonderful with other dogs of all sizes and currently enjoys the company of her foster sibling. While she'd happily share her home with another friendly dog, she could also thrive as an only dog provided she has plenty of human companionship.
She's also lovely with children and has met children as young as six years old. Whisper does appreciate calmer children, as lots of running, squealing and sudden movements can make her feel a little overwhelmed.
Around the home she's a wonderfully quiet little girl.
She doesn't spend her day barking at passing dogs, birds or visitors.
The only time you'll usually hear her voice is if something genuinely catches her attention...
Or she's becoming just a little impatient because she'd really like you to hurry up and take her for that walk.
Like every dog, Whisper has a few adorable little quirks.
She has a surprisingly impressive snore for such a dainty little lady.
She also believes socks and toilet rolls make excellent toys if you forget to leave her own toys out.
A good supply of chew toys will definitely keep everyone happier!
Now...
There is one very important thing Whisper's new family needs to understand.
Whisper has developed a strong instinct for hunting cane toads.
While many dogs enjoy sniffing around the garden, Whisper actively seeks them out and can become quite fixated on finding them.
Because of this, she cannot be left unsupervised outdoors, particularly at dusk, overnight or in areas where cane toads are common.
Her foster family has developed a simple routine where Whisper is supervised whenever she's outside, and this has worked beautifully.
A courtyard, smaller yard or even a balcony would suit her perfectly.
A large yard where she could roam unsupervised would not be suitable.
This isn't something that can simply be trained away, so her new family must be committed to ongoing supervision whenever she's outside.
It's a very manageable routine, but it's an important one that will help keep Whisper safe.
Apart from her fascination with cane toads, Whisper truly is everything people love about Cavaliers.
She's affectionate without being demanding.
Active without being over-the-top.
Gentle.
Kind.
Loyal.
And happiest when she's close to the people she loves.
🤍 If you're looking for a beautiful Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who'll happily join you for long walks, spend her afternoons snuggled beside you and fill your home with quiet companionship, Whisper could be the perfect addition to your family.
All she asks in return...
Is plenty of cuddles...
A comfy couch...
A few tasty treats...
And a family who'll lovingly keep a close eye on her whenever she's outside.
🐾 Professional cuddle collector.
🚶 Enthusiastic walking buddy.
🥩 Kitchen supervisor.
😴 Championship snorer.
❤️ Full-time Cavalier shadow with one very naughty cane toad obsession.
