Meet Nyx: The Ultimate Smoochy Senior Soulmate 🖤

Looking for a velvety black shadow who turns every quiet moment into pure cuddly bliss? Say hello to Nyx, a gorgeous 14-year-old black female kitty with a heart of gold and an endless supply of affection.

Nyx is the definition of a lover, not a fighter. She’s incredibly sweet, gentle, and oh-so-affectionate once she knows you’re her person.

If you have a knee, lap, or sunny windowsill, she’ll claim it as her personal throne and reward you with the sweetest snuggles. She’ll happily laze the day away with you -whether that’s curled up on your desk while you work, or simply soaking up sunbeams and good company.

Her late owner worked from home for many years, so Nyx is wonderfully used to a calm, predictable routine with her favourite human nearby.

Sadly, Nyx’s beloved owner passed away earlier this year. She stayed at The Cat Pad cattery since May while her owner was in hospital, and her family reached out to us for help finding her the perfect forever home.

Since arriving in her foster home, this resilient little lady has adapted beautifully and her true smoochy personality is shining brighter every day!

A few of Nyx’s favourite things:

Epic snuggle sessions (she’s a champion lap cat)
Her tunnel - give the side a little skritch and watch her pounce like a playful kitten!
Chasing her mouse on a string and inventing her own fun
That classic “grompy” meow and curious little chirps (she’s generally very quiet)
Using her scratching post like a good girl (treats are mandatory and highly appreciated)

A note on mealtime: Nyx has a Catit Senses Food Digger for her dry food because she tends to inhale it too quickly and then regret it. She enjoys wet food for dinner -half a pouch to start, then the rest once she’s happily finished.

Nyx has been with her person for 14 wonderful years and is now looking for a calm, loving home with someone who can appreciate her incredibly loving personality.

She's probably nhot a good fit for a home with super young kids but should be fine with other animals. although I'm sure she would love to be the queen of her very own castle again.

She’s cautious with new people at first but becomes wonderfully affectionate and bonded once she trusts you.

About Us

Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.

Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.

Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.

As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.

All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.

Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
