Diesel is a big, brave and beautiful senior boy with a gentle soul and so much love to give.

Despite not always having the easiest start in life, Diesel has never lost his kind heart. Rescued after concerned neighbours alerted authorities to his situation, he's embraced the chance to enjoy the comforts every dog deserves and is now looking for a special foster home while he completes treatment for his skin allergies.

This sweet gentleman enjoys his twice-daily walks, where he'll happily follow his nose and take in every scent along the way. Diesel likes to keep things interesting by zig-zagging and even suggesting his own preferred route, making every outing a little adventure.

At home, Diesel is calm, relaxed and wonderfully easy to live with. He can be left indoors on his own without any fuss and is perfectly content snoozing on his comfy bed. If you enjoy having your dog close by at night, Diesel will happily curl up at the end of your bed and sleep peacefully until morning.

Diesel still has a playful side too. He enjoys paddling in the water just enough to wet his paws, loves spending time outdoors, and has even been known to "help" his foster dad during a round of golf.

For such a big boy, Diesel has beautifully gentle manners. He's affectionate without being demanding, enjoys spending time with his people, and is respectful around the home. He gets along well with other dogs and is currently best friends with his tiny 5kg foster sibling. He's also living peacefully with a cat and has shown he can happily share his home with feline friends.

Recently, Diesel was diagnosed with significant allergies. Thanks to the generous support of Veterinary Dermatology Specialists, he is receiving specialist treatment and is currently undergoing an elimination diet to identify exactly what is causing his allergies. This is expected to take another 6–8 weeks, and it's important that he eats only his prescribed food during this time. SAFE will provide his special food if needed.

Because of this, Diesel's foster carer will need to ensure he can't access any other food while he's completing his diet trial. He's currently sharing his home beautifully with a small dog and a cat, but like many dogs, he's always keen to sample whatever they're eating! A little management at mealtimes is all that's needed to keep him on track so his specialists can accurately identify his allergies.

After spending much of his previous life isolated, we'd love Diesel to continue enjoying the company of people and, if possible, another friendly dog or cat. He's thriving in foster care and has formed a wonderful friendship with his little canine mate.

Diesel is the kind of dog who asks for very little—just a comfortable bed, regular walks, gentle companionship and someone willing to help him through this final step on his journey. Once his diet trial is complete, he'll be one step closer to finding the forever home he truly deserves.
