🩷 Meet Whippy… the long-legged princess looking for her happily ever after! 🐾

Have you ever wanted your own baby giraffe… crossed with a kangaroo… wrapped up in the most beautiful velvet Greyhound coat? Well, meet Whippy! 🩷

This gorgeous 8–10-month-old Greyhound puppy arrived at the pound on 19th June after being sadly dumped with no microchip, meaning we have no way of knowing her real name, exact age or previous history. What we do know is that whoever adopts this beautiful girl is going to have an incredible dog.

🐾 Still very much a puppy with so much love to give.

🎾 Loves playing with other dogs and is always ready for a game before settling down for a well-earned nap.

🚶‍♀️ Walks beautifully on lead and is honestly a dream to take out. She prefers wearing a harness, doesn't pull and naturally walks right beside you, especially impressive for such a young dog.

🩷 Has the sweetest Greyhound features—her long snoot, silky-soft velvet coat and adorable smile melt everyone's heart.

🛋️ Has the classic Greyhound off switch. After a play session or a few zoomies, she's more than happy to stretch out and snooze like a true lounge lizard.

😂 Her zoomies are guaranteed entertainment. She bounces, leaps and runs with all the grace of a gangly baby giraffe who's still figuring out where her legs are. Watching Whippy play will brighten anyone's day.

🐶 A social butterfly

Whippy absolutely adores other dogs.

She's become great friends with Barry, our young Heeler, and loves wrestling, chasing and playing with him. Like many Greyhounds, she's delightfully dramatic! If Barry accidentally jumps on her during play, she'll let out the famous "Greyhound scream"... only to turn around two seconds later and jump straight back on him herself.

It's all part of her wonderfully quirky personality.

Because she's still such a young puppy, we think Whippy would thrive in a home with a friendly, desexed male dog who enjoys playing and can help keep her company. She genuinely loves having another canine friend around.

She could also live as an only dog, provided someone is home for much of the day and can offer plenty of exercise, enrichment, toys and companionship while she settles into her new life.

🏡 The home Whippy is looking for

Being a young Greyhound, Whippy is still learning all about the world.

She's currently working on her toilet training and is making good progress, but like any puppy, she'll need patience and consistency from her new family.

She can become bored if left alone in the backyard for long periods. Because she's athletic, slim and incredibly agile, she may be tempted to investigate what's on the other side of the fence if she doesn't have enough company or stimulation.

For this reason, we'd recommend:
✔ A friendly canine companion or
✔ Someone home for much of the day while she settles.

Initially, she'd likely be happiest spending time indoors when her family is away until she's fully adjusted to her new home and routine.💕

Whippy has so much potential.

She's affectionate, funny, gentle, incredibly easy to walk, full of personality and still has her whole life ahead of her. With a little guidance and continued training, she's going to grow into an absolutely amazing companion.

Young Greyhounds like Whippy don't come along often, and we know she's going to make one lucky family incredibly happy.
