Meet Lloyd
Lloyd is a stunning 2-year-old Aussie Bulldog X Dogue de Bordeaux looking for an experienced home that understands the needs of a large breed dog. He is fully house and toilet trained and has settled beautifully into home life. Lloyd is incredibly affectionate and forms strong bonds with his people.
Lloyd was born with a cleft palate, which has absolutely no impact on his quality of life. It doesn’t slow him down or require any special care in fact, it simply adds to his unique charm and beautiful quirks.
The Aussie Bulldog was developed in Australia over many years using breeds including the English Bulldog, Boxer, Bullmastiff and other mastiff lines to create a healthier, more athletic bulldog. As a result, they are known for their loyal, affectionate and people-focused nature. Lloyd is everything you would hope for in the breed loving, devoted and happiest when he’s included as part of the family.
Lloyd enjoys his daily walks, loves exploring new places and could spend hours following his nose. He absolutely loves trips to the beach, happily pottering along the sand and taking it all in. While he’s not exactly a water dog (his attempts at swimming are quite hilarious!), he loves being outdoors and sharing adventures with his people. He also travels beautifully in the car, happily watching the world go by or curling up for a sleep. Around the home he has lovely manners and already knows sit, shake and waits patiently for his meals.
Lloyd does have some specific needs that his new family must understand. He is a large, powerful dog who can become overexcited when he sees other dogs while on lead. This isn’t aggression he simply becomes overstimulated and struggles to stay calm in those situations. Because of this, he needs a physically strong, confident owner who understands the breed and is committed to providing calm, consistent leadership and ongoing training.
Lloyd isn’t the type of dog who will enjoy busy dog parks or crowded walking paths. He will thrive with structured walks in quieter areas where he can relax, sniff and enjoy his surroundings without constantly encountering other dogs.
Lloyd would be happiest as the only pet, where he can soak up all the love and attention from his family. He may also suit a home with a calm, laid-back female dog following a successful meet and greet.
Due to his size and strength, Lloyd is not suited to a home with young children. Although he has a beautiful, gentle nature, he is a solid boy who could easily knock over a little one without meaning to. Older, respectful children who understand how to interact appropriately with large dogs would be a much better fit.
Lloyd has lived in a family environment and understands the dynamics of family life. He is looking for a home where he will be treated as part of the family not simply a dog left in the backyard. He thrives on routine, companionship and being included in everyday life. In return, he will give his new family unwavering loyalty, endless affection and a best friend who will always be by their side.

His adoption fee is $700. He is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and treated for fleas, ticks and worms. He is in foster care in Sutherland Shire, NSW, and is available for adoption to Newcastle/Hunter region only.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:

(2) If the questionnaire is approved, we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've applied for.
(3) Next, we will arrange for you to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or at a nearby park.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay the adoption fee*, sign the NSW change of ownership form and our DRN Adoption Agreement and take your new family member home! The two week trial period begins on the day of adoption.
*We prefer payment by funds transfer and don't accept cash or personal cheques.
