Meet Hiro - A Loyal Best Friend in the Making!

Hi, I'm Hiro! A 1 year, 4 month old German Shepherd with a handsome face, a clever brain, and a heart that's just waiting for the right people to help it shine.

Life has been a bit overwhelming for me at times, so I can be a little unsure when meeting new people. I like to take things at my own pace, and once I know you're kind, you'll discover what a sweet, affectionate boy I really am. My favourite relationships are built on trust, patience... and of course, tasty treats!

Speaking of treats, I LOVE food! It's the quickest way to my heart and makes learning lots of fun. I already know "sit," and I'm always keen to earn another snack while showing off my clever side.

Since arriving at the shelter, I've been working really hard with our dedicated Behaviour Team, and everyone is so proud of how far I've come. Shelter life was pretty stressful for me, but with time, patience, and positive training, I've become much calmer and more confident. I'm greeting new people more politely, making good choices when I need a little space, and enjoying my walks much more. I've even become more focused during training, especially when I'm out exploring away from the busy shelter.

My perfect family will understand that I don't need to rush into making friends. I'd love a home where everyone is aged 16 years and over, dog savvy, happy to give me space when I need it, and willing to let me build my confidence through gentle, positive experiences. Once I trust you, I'll happily show you my affectionate, loyal side.

I may also be able to live with another calm, friendly dog, provided we have slow, thoughtful introductions and plenty of time to get to know each other.
