Meet Wallace, one of four puppies in ARK’s Braveheart Litter—two girls and two boys. This handsome little fellow has a lovely dark, softly textured coat, a gentle expression and plenty of quiet charm.
His foster mum describes Wallace simply as “beautiful, inside and out.” He is a sweet and appealing puppy whose lovely nature is every bit as special as his looks.
Wallace’s dad is a Wolfhound/Border Collie mix and his mum is a German Shepherd mix. Photos of both parents are included in his profile. His darker colouring and slightly tousled coat give him a distinctive appearance of his own.
FUN FACT: Wallace is a strong Scottish name, famously associated with the warrior William Wallace—making it especially fitting for a little member of the Braveheart Litter.
With working and guardian breeds in his background, Wallace is likely to grow into an intelligent, loyal and affectionate dog. Border Collies and German Shepherds are known for being highly trainable and responsive to their people, while the Wolfhound influence may contribute size, gentleness and a more easygoing nature. As with any mixed-breed puppy, his eventual size and appearance cannot be predicted with certainty, but adopters should be prepared for him to become a medium-to-large dog.
Wallace will need a home committed to continuing his training and socialisation from the beginning. He would benefit from kind, consistent guidance, regular mental stimulation and plenty of age-appropriate exercise as he grows.
His ideal home will have secure fencing, indoor access and people who want to include him in everyday family life. Wallace will thrive where he receives companionship, structure and the opportunity to grow into a confident, well-mannered adult dog.
Wallace will be ready to leave for his new home on 21 July 2026.

7 July 2026 - Wallace was health-checked, worm and vaccinated. His next vaccination, his second in a course of three, is due on 7 August 2026.

Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Cats:
