These two are truly a special pair, and they are seeking an experienced foster home where they can heal and grow together.

Maggie and DeeDee came into care after a rough start in life. Maggie had 3 beautiful ginger kittens - Jaffa, Lolly, & Freckles - while DeeDee had none herself. Their original carer, who had been watching them in their colony for quite some time, told us the reason why: DeeDee was so good at protecting her sister and the kittens that no male cats had dared come close to them ever again.

With some tricky traps and plenty of treats, all 5 girls were brought into care. The kittens were young and quickly took to domestic life, earning themselves furever homes within their first month in care.

Maggie and DeeDee, though? They needed more time to heal.

Over the past few years, they have made tremendous strides in their bravery and in learning to trust humans. However, their progress hasn't been quite as significant as we hoped in the busy environment where they currently reside, and we fear they are reaching a critical point where their opportunity for a loving home may be lost forever.

We just KNOW they have so much love to give, they just need the right people to help them find it!

MAGGIE
Maggie is a 6 year old orange DSH with curious eyes and a cheeky smile. She isn't ready for human touch, but she is remarkably comfortable around her carers. She will allow you to clean and move about her area, and enjoys when you explain what you're doing to her in a sweet, calm voice. She may even give you a slow blink! Maggie adores Temptations treats and readily accepts them.

DEEDEE
DeeDee is a 6 year old DLH tortiseshell whose weary gaze hides a loyal and loving kitty within. She is less ready for human touch, and can be reluctant to engage when her carer comes close to their area. She trusts her sister though, and if Maggie isn't scared then DeeDee does her best to be brave too. Sure, DeeDee may look as though she wishes you would take a long walk off a very short pier, but she loves Temptations treats just as much as Maggie does and can be very easily bribed.

They will need...
👁️ An experienced foster carer who has worked with shy/shut down cats before
🏡 A home with no other cats or indoor animals
🍃 If children are present, an area where they can retreat to privately
💖 A carer who can work with them daily, slowly building trust and showing them that life with pats and humans isn't quite so bad
🚫 No travel plans for the next 6 months, as they will require a steady and consistent home

📍 Regular check-ins via phone or text with their current carer to ensure you are receiving support as a foster
✅ Food, litter, & vet visits (if needed) will be covered by their current carer
