Meet Elspeth, one of four puppies in ARK’s Braveheart Litter—two girls and two boys. She is a very fluffy and utterly adorable little girl with a gentle expression and a quiet, easygoing nature.
Her foster mum describes Elspeth as “a very quiet, no-fuss kind of gal.” She is sweet, calm and content to take life as it comes, making her a lovely choice for a home looking for a softer, more settled puppy personality.
Elspeth’s dad is a Wolfhound/Border Collie mix and her mum is a German Shepherd mix. Photos of both parents are included in her profile. Her fluffy coat suggests that she may have inherited more of the longer-coated influence in her family.
FUN FACT: Elspeth is the Scottish form of Elizabeth and means “pledged to God.” It is a beautiful, traditional name for a gentle little Braveheart.
With working and guardian breeds in her background, Elspeth is likely to grow into an intelligent, loyal and affectionate dog. Border Collies and German Shepherds are known for being highly trainable and responsive to their people, while the Wolfhound influence may contribute size, gentleness and a more easygoing nature. As with any mixed-breed puppy, her eventual size and appearance cannot be predicted with certainty, but adopters should be prepared for her to become a medium-to-large dog.
Elspeth will need a home committed to continuing her training and socialisation from the beginning. She would benefit from kind, consistent guidance, regular mental stimulation and plenty of age-appropriate exercise as she grows.
Her ideal home will have secure fencing, indoor access and people who want to include her in everyday family life. She will thrive where she receives companionship, structure and the opportunity to grow into a confident, well-mannered adult dog.
Elspeth will be ready to leave for her new home on 21 July 2026.
The cost of Elspeth’s future desexing is included in her adoption fee under ARK’s Deferred Desexing Program, subject to the program’s terms and conditions.
