About Nombu
Nombu is a sweet, affectionate girl who absolutely loves cuddles and being close to her people. She has a real zest for life and absolutely loves adventures! When she first came into our care, she was hesitant to jump into the car. It didn’t take her long to realise that car rides usually meant exciting trips to the beach or other fun outings. Now, she’s eager to hop in… Nombu loves playing with other dogs and show off her zoomies! She can sometimes forget just how big she is, so she’d be best matched with dog friends of a similar size and energy level who enjoy a good play session. She would likely thrive in a home with another friendly dog to keep her company. That said, she’s also been perfectly happy as the only dog in our home, provided she gets regular outings to the dog park and plenty of opportunities for exercise, enrichment, and socialisation. Nombu is fantastic with children. She is incredibly patient, gentle, and loves nothing more than cuddles and being involved in family life. Our 4-year-old and Nombu have become the best of friends and absolutely adore each other. Like many large dogs, she doesn’t always realise how big she is and can occasionally knock a child over by accident when she’s excited. Because of this, we’d recommend a home with children around four years of age or older, or families who understand how to safely supervise interactions between young children and large dogs. Nombu is currently learning to walk nicely on a lead and is doing really well with her heel training. She maintains her focus well until other dogs become a distraction, so she’ll benefit from a family who is happy to continue her training and help build her confidence around distractions. Nombu is a loving, happy, and adventurous girl with so much affection to give. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend to share life’s adventures with, Nombu could be your perfect match.
