About Billy
Meet Billy!
Billy is a sweet little boy who is looking for something he’s never really had before… a family willing to show him that the world isn’t such a scary place.
Having spent much of his life with very limited socialisation, Billy can be wary of new people and unfamiliar situations. On first meeting, he may let out a growl to let you know he’s feeling unsure. It’s simply his way of asking for a little space. Give him the chance to approach you in his own time and you’ll quickly discover the affectionate little dog hiding beneath his worried exterior.
Since coming into foster care, Billy has made wonderful progress. He absolutely loves his food, enjoys going for walks, and thinks car rides are a great. He sleeps either in bed with his foster family or curled up in his own bed and confidently uses the dog door.
Billy can be reactive when on lead, which is understandable given his limited life experiences, and he can become anxious during veterinary visits. He will need a patient, understanding family who are happy to continue building his confidence using kind, positive reinforcement. Watching Billy learn to trust and discover new experiences is incredibly rewarding.
Billy would thrive in a calm home with people who understand that trust isn’t built in a day, but most importantly he needs a family willing to let him go at his own pace.
Billy isn’t looking for perfection—he’s simply looking for someone who sees past his fears and recognises the loving, loyal little dog waiting to blossom. With patience, consistency and understanding, Billy will repay you with unwavering devotion and the joy of watching him become the dog he was always meant to be.
Billy is a sensitive little dog who can become defensive if he feels frightened, overwhelmed, or is handled in a way that makes him uncomfortable. He will thrive with a patient family who will respect his boundaries, allow him to build trust at his own pace, and continue using positive reinforcement to grow his confidence. As Billy settles and feels secure, we’re already seeing his confidence blossom. He is best suited to a calm, experienced adult-only home with no children, where he can continue to flourish.
Regular grooming is a must.

Adoption details
Thank you for your interest in adopting through our rescue.
If you are shortlisted, a member of our team will be in touch within 7–10 working days. Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we are unfortunately unable to enter into correspondence with unsuccessful applicants.
Shortlisted applicants will participate in a phone interview to help us assess the suitability of the home for the individual dog. The needs of each dog are our priority, and we will only proceed where we feel there is a strong match.
Successful applicants will have a meet and greet at a mutually convenient time with the foster carer. This will include introductions to all household members and any existing pets, as well as a property/fence check.
If all goes well, the dog may begin a 14-day trial period in the home to ensure the match is the right fit for both the dog and adopter. An adoption form will be completed and the adoption fee paid at this stage (fully refundable within the trial period if the placement is not suitable).
All relevant veterinary and adoption documentation will be provided upon successful completion of the trial period.
