About Willow
Hi, I'm Willow and I am a Shar Pei x Staffordshire Bull Terrier puppy from the Aussie Litter.
I'm the only girl in my little foster family (I do, however, have sisters in other foster homes) but don't let that fool you. I can more than hold my own when my brothers decide it's time for another wrestling match. I love playing with them, chasing them around the yard, and joining in every game of tug-of-war. When we're all worn out, though, I'm usually the first to decide it's time to rest.
My foster Mum says I'm a bit of an independent adventurer, and I think that's a pretty good description. When we're out in the yard, I love wandering off to investigate interesting smells and explore new corners. Once I've satisfied my curiosity, I race back to see what everyone else is doing. I like knowing I can have my own little adventures, but I also don't want to miss out on any fun.
I love people. Big people, little people, visitors, and anyone willing to pat me. I enjoy attention, but I'm also happy doing my own thing for a while before coming back for a cuddle.
I get along beautifully with other dogs. My brothers are my favourite playmates, and I also enjoy spending time with my 16-year-old foster sister, Bonnie. She's much calmer than we are, but I still like being close to her.
Every day I help my foster Mum with the ducks. We walk down together each morning to let them out, and again in the evening to tuck them into their pen. I know they're not for chasing, and I'm very good at listening when I'm told to leave them alone.
Tug of war is definitely my favourite game, although I also think sticks are wonderful treasures. Whether it's a tiny twig or a big branch, I'll happily carry it around until one of my brothers decides they want it too.
I'm learning all my puppy manners. I already understand "Leave" and "No," and I'm practising "Sit" and "Wait." Waiting for food is getting easier. I can manage about two whole seconds now, which I think deserves a round of applause.
I'm doing well with my toilet training, enjoy walking on a lead with my harness, and I always behave beautifully at the vet. My foster Mum says I'm a pleasure to take anywhere because I love meeting people and take everything in my stride.
One thing I really enjoy is simply sitting quietly and listening. Sometimes I'll stop what I'm doing just to watch the world around me for a little while before deciding what adventure comes next.
I like cuddles, but I'm also happy to curl up for a nap on my own. I think I've found a nice balance between enjoying company and being comfortable entertaining myself.
If you're looking for a puppy who is playful, curious, and quietly confident, with just the right mix of adventure and affection, I'd love to meet you.
Love,
Willow
