About Meerkat
This is Meerkat and he's just 10 months old. When he arrived into our care he used to prop on his back feet like a meerkat hence the name. It was quickly discovered he was doing this due to an injury and x-rays were taken. Unbelievably he had fractures across both his front feet, so the propping was because he was sore, poor lad. He was given pain relief and his x-rays sent off to the specialist for their opinion. While a plan was being formulated, he was sent out on foster care for some R&R. Well did this boy love being on foster? He sure did!!! Racing around, playing with the resident cats and causing mischief. The answer arrived back that due to where the breaks were surgery wasn't an option and if he was happy, pain free and able to jump then he could be adopted. This boy has won so many hearts here at AA with his funny antics, and even though her has one crooked Jack Russel looking foot he LOVES spending time in the outdoor enclosure here climbing to the top of all the cat trees and playing with random things he finds amusing. So, we're now searching for the perfect home for him. He's a bit of a rascal so a home with older kids would be best, some room to run around, ideally, he needs to live indoors or have access to a catio. He's full of personality and is very smoochie so be prepared for lots of kisses in between zoomie runs. His front feet will always look a little crooked and as he ages, he may need arthritis medication and can't be allowed to get chonky. If you'd like to meet the boy who stole our hearts with his bravery, then come down any day between 11.30am and 3.30pm.
