About Hazel
Hazel’s journey has been nothing short of incredible. After spending the beginning of her life in an intensive breeding facility, she arrived in foster care completely shut down, terrified of the world around her and scared of her own shadow.
Fast forward to today, and the transformation has been amazing.
Hazel now looks forward to her daily walks and absolutely loves stretching her legs with a run around a securely fenced dog park. Every day she grows a little more confident, and watching her discover how wonderful life can be has been a privilege.
While Hazel isn’t a cuddly girl (at least not yet), she shows her love in her own special way. She’ll happily follow you from room to room and quietly become your little shadow. One place she does truly enjoy affection is in the car—secure her safely in the front seat and she’ll happily lean into gentle pats for the entire trip.
Hazel has learnt so much in foster care and responds beautifully to gentle guidance. A confident, friendly canine companion is essential for her. She absolutely adores her foster sisters, who have helped teach her that people can be kind and the world isn’t such a scary place. We know another calm, social dog will help her continue to thrive.
Bath time? Hazel deserves a gold star! She stands beautifully for her weekly medicated bath, patiently allows herself to be blow dried and doesn’t even shake water all over you afterwards.
We are looking for:
* ❤️ A home with another friendly, confident dog.
* ❤️ A patient family who will allow Hazel to continue building trust at her own pace.
* ❤️ A family committed to continuing her ongoing skin care and veterinary management.
* ❤️ A secure home where Hazel can continue enjoying daily walks and adventures.
Hazel won’t be the dog who jumps straight into your lap on day one, but if you’re willing to give her the time she deserves, you’ll be rewarded with something incredibly special. Watching a puppy farm survivor learn what love, safety and happiness feel like is one of life’s greatest gifts.
Hazel is going to leave a huge hole in her foster family’s hearts, but we know her perfect forever home is out there, ready to write the next chapter of her beautiful story.
Weight: 11 kg
Breed: Labradoodle
Medical notes
Medical Notes:
Hazel has ongoing skin issues that will require lifelong management. She is currently comfortable, and her future family should be prepared to continue working with their veterinarian to keep her skin healthy through appropriate treatment, diet and regular monitoring.
🩺 A family committed to continuing her ongoing skin care.
Adoption details
Thank you for your interest in adopting through our rescue.
If you are shortlisted, a member of our team will be in touch within 7–10 working days. Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we are unfortunately unable to enter into correspondence with unsuccessful applicants.
Shortlisted applicants will participate in a phone interview to help us assess the suitability of the home for the individual dog. The needs of each dog are our priority, and we will only proceed where we feel there is a strong match.
Successful applicants will have a meet and greet at a mutually convenient time with the foster carer. This will include introductions to all household members and any existing pets, as well as a property/fence check.
If all goes well, the dog may begin a 14-day trial period in the home to ensure the match is the right fit for both the dog and adopter. An adoption form will be completed and the adoption fee paid at this stage (fully refundable within the trial period if the placement is not suitable).
All relevant veterinary and adoption documentation will be provided upon successful completion of the trial period.
