About Willow
Introducing Willow!
Willow is a Maltese x Shih Tzu born 2nd May 2024.
A member of the public called the facility to say they had found three stray dogs who were roaming out the back of Maitland. Rangers went to the 'finders' house to scan the dogs for microchips.. only to find they were actually microchipped to the people who 'found' them. When confronted with this information they confirmed that these 3 'unknown strays' were their dogs from a litter 2 years ago. They were unable to continue caring for their multitude of dogs and had forgotten they'd had them microchipped as puppies.
While both of Willow's brothers needed extensive grooming, Willow's fur was is much better condition & thankfully only needed a quick tidy up.
Willow has been a little shy since coming into us, however when you spend time with her she is a sweet little girl and her confidence is increasing every day.
Willow tested OK with other dogs, but she definitely prefers the company of smaller dogs. She was completely unfazed when meeting a female Dachshund, however she was very scared when being introduced to a larger, more boisterous female puppy. While Willow may eventually settle into a home with no other animals, we believe she would be more comfortable having another doggy friend to play with as she's never lived by herself before. If you have a small, friendly dog at home we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home. Alternatively, Willow can be rehomed with either of her brothers, as they all get along very well.
Willow has not been tested with cats & pocket pets like chickens & rabbits.
Willow has shown no signs of food aggression since being at the facility.
Willow has shown no signs of separation anxiety while she is housed with her brothers, however she becomes quite frantic when she's by herself.
If you think you could be that furever family for Willow, please contact our friendly staff via email at ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com or 0499 900272 to organise a meet and greet.
Willow’s adoption fee is $850, and this includes her desexing, vaccination and lifetime registration. Willow is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.
Willow is currently located in East Maitland.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
