About Will
Please only apply for this greyhound if you have:
- Children over 8 years
This beautiful boy with an even bigger heart is ready to find his forever home. He’s quite the stunner, with a sleek, shiny black coat that turns heads wherever he goes.
Confident, clever and incredibly adaptable, Will has taken to pet life like a natural. In fact, he’s been one of our easiest foster dogs. From day one, he settled straight in and even worked out the doggy door within an hour. He’s a smart cookie!
Will is an absolute people-lover and adores all humans, big and small. He loves being where his people are, staying close to soak up the love and always ready for pats (or treats) that might come his way.
He’s already mastered the essentials:
Walks beautifully on lead. He currently enjoys two short (15-minutes each) daily walks but would be just as happy with one longer walk of up to 40 minutes
Fully toilet trained
Comfortable spending a few hours alone, though he prefers human company
Travels well in the car. He just needs a little help getting in but hops out happily
Sleeps soundly through the night
Will also has plenty of personality. He’s a gentle “talker” and will give a soft little cry to let you know when it’s time for dinner, a walk, the toilet… or when he thinks it’s been a bit too long between cuddles. It’s all part of his charm.
He’ll make you laugh every day with his playful, puppy-like bursts of energy that keep things fun. He enjoys a good play session with his toys, although anything soft is fair game…hide your slippers!. The rest of the time, he’s a classic greyhound couch potato, perfectly content to stretch out, relax and lounge the day away.
Will is currently living with a calm, older female greyhound and is respectful of her. As he can still be a bit playful, he would suit a home with another calm greyhound companion. He would also be just as happy as an only dog, soaking up all the attention.
Will is a big boy who doesn’t always realise his size. He’s all heart and completely well-meaning, but his big, happy energy can be a bit much for little humans. So, he’s best suited to a home with older, dog‑savvy children who can comfortably share space with a large, occasionally playful dog.
Will has pannus, which is effectively managed with once daily eye drops that are simple to administer. He’s very cooperative and especially enjoys the treat afterwards.
Will would suit a home looking for a companion who is already well on his way to being easy and settled, while still bringing fun, affection and a touch of cheekiness. He’s a beautiful mix of gentle, loyal and delightfully goofy, and if you’re looking for a clever, affectionate dog who will make you smile every day, Will could be your perfect match.
[Note: Under Victorian Law greyhounds must be on-leash at all times in public areas, including in off-leash parks or ovals]
