About Dobbie
Meet Dobbie, a charming 9-year-old pup who has made an incredible journey from a timid newcomer to a loving companion, ready to share his life with a new family. Having spent his early days outdoors, Dobbie discovered a whole new world filled with warmth and comfort. Blankets and beds quickly became his favourites as he learned to appreciate the simple joys of snuggling and affection. With patience and love from his foster family, he smoothly transitioned from pee plates to becoming an expert in good behaviour.
Dobbie’s gentle heart may leave him shy at first, but once he gets to know you, he reveals a bounty of affection. Prepare yourself for a flurry of loving moments as Dobbie expresses his gratitude for a caring home. His playful side shines when he’s engaged with squeaky toys, and while he enjoys the occasional short walk, a mere 10 minutes is enough for him before he’s ready to return to his beloved spot under a blanket.
A social creature, Dobbie thrives in the company of his canine companions. He's adapted well to being home alone when his humans are at work, cozily nestled in a warm, comfy bed. Dobbie has come a long way and is eager to settle into a family that appreciates his unique journey and is ready to provide a loving home for this sweet, cuddly boy. Medical notes
9 year old Dobbie is desexed, microchipped and vaccinated. He is up to date with flea, tick, intestinal worm and heart worm prevention.
Dobbie has had extensive dental work since coming into care and has healed perfectly well and enjoys his two meals a day.
Dobbie also has a B2 mitral valve heart murmur that is managed with 0.625mg Vetmedin (half a tablet) twice daily before meals.
We recommend Dobbie have a vet check every 6 months to monitor his heart condition and dental health, and also because he’s a mature gent.
Adoption details
Chihuahua Rescue QLD Inc. is not a first to apply rescue group.We re-home our dogs based on the best possible family we can find them.
The first step to adopting a dog from us is to fill out an expression of interest form.
We encourage you to provide as much detail as possible about your family and your home as this helps us make sure we match you with the most suitable dog.

Due to the large volume of inquiries we are unable to respond to all applications. If you are considered suitable for the dog you have applied for you will be contacted witihin one week of applying.
Please note: we do not organise any meet and greet without a completed expression of interest form.
Our adoption process involves:
1) Completing online application form - only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
2) Arranging a meet and greet with the dogs foster carer, after which we ask you to take 24 hours to make a decision about whether you want to adopt this dog
3) A brief home visit and yard check from one of our volunteers
4) Adoption trial spanning four weeks.
We ask that you pay the dogs adoption fee at the beginning of the adoption trial, however this will be refunded if for any reason the dog is not working out in your home within the four week period. We offer a four week adoption trial to make sure that you have plenty of time for your new dog to settle into your home and so we can offer you full support during this period and beyond.
We offer a free health check with our vets at Browns Plains, Jindalee or Kedron vet clinic after you’ve adopted your dog and every dog in our care is up to date with all vet work.
