About Nancy -Special Needs -Blind and Deaf
***i've gone on a trial home!!!***
nancy has been through a lot in life, however has definitely landed on her feet after she was dumped/strayed from her previous owner. Nancy was picked up as she was about to step onto a highway, and the caring member of the public took her to great western animal hospital -the luckiest thing that could happen to her. She's deaf and blind, was covered in fleas and was emaciated. She had a fracture on her left hind leg which was an old injury and hadn't been treated, therefore has healed in a crooked way. We happened to be at the vets rescueing some orphaned baby bunnies when we were introduced to nancy, and who could not fall in love with her straight away? she is so grateful for any bit of attention, and gets so excited when near you. Nancy was desexed, and the vets described her uterus as "very used". Although we'll never know her history, it is assumed that she was held as a breeding machine, to churn out puppies on demand. She has had a dental and all her teeth are now nice and clean. She had blood work and thankfully her liver and kidneys are fine. Tested negative to heartworm and is now on prevention. Her kneecaps apparently click out but that is expected at a dog her age. The eye specialist vet noticed she had high blood vessels in her eyes, so now she is on steroid drops to prevent a condition called glaucoma. This is being managed easily. Nancy is the sweetest girl and just wants to be on your lap all the time. She has such a love of life, and will need a very special home indeed! nancy touches the hearts of everyone she meets, and wants to be everyone's friend. She gets along with chickens, bunnies, guinea pigs and a cat. Although not left unsupervised with them, we doubt she could harm a flea. She is not keen on ferrets. . . But will tolerate them so long as they don't bite her. Nancy is the most well behaved dog we have come across. Unlike your typical small dog, she is not the least yappy. Infact we don't hear a sound out of her, unless she is in dream land in which case there are a few cute murmurings, and the occasional running in her sleep. She isn't a snappy dog at all, and has such a gentleness about her that everyone seems suprised. This little dog is the biggest treasure you could come across, and is only available to the very best of homes. Please note that nancy is not available for interstate adoption, and that you will have to meet her prior to having your application to adopt aproved. Once again, we'd like to thank jodie and everyone at great western animal hospital. Without your care and compassion, nancy wouldn't have stood a chance. We are so grateful to you for having given nancy this second chance at life. If you wish to meet nancy, please fill in an adoption form on our website: www. Porschesrescue. Com
