Neddy (aka Teddy) is a handsome Cavoodle with a playful personality that's beginning to shine as he settles into foster care. Once he feels comfortable, he loves a game of tug or fetch and will happily bring you a toy to join in the fun. He enjoys chew toys, settles well after play, and is learning the comfort of a predictable daily routine. Neddy also sleeps well in his crate overnight and is becoming more confident each day.
Neddy is still building his confidence with the world around him. He can be reactive to unfamiliar people and dogs while out on walks and is initially wary of new people visiting the home. Like many dogs who have missed important early socialisation, Neddy needs time, patience and positive experiences to feel safe. Once he begins to trust someone, his playful and affectionate personality starts to emerge. His foster carers are working with Neddy using reward-based training, confidence-building and structured socialisation, and he is making encouraging progress. His future family should be prepared to continue this work and allow Neddy to build trust at his own pace.
When trust has developed, you'll see him bounce around happy and excited with a toy in his mouth, do zoomies from one end of the house to the other and back again multiple times, with a pause only to look at you to see if you're joining in before he does another loop, and has a love for couch cuddles and naps with his head on your leg. He can self-occupy with his toys and is able to identify when it's "work" time and you're not as available for fun, games, and cuddles (carer is a remote worker). He loves being around his people and will follow them room to room if they move, preferring to stick with the least busy person, as the chance of convincing them it's play time (which is every waking moment!) has higher success.
Neddy would be best suited to a calm, patient home that understands confidence-building takes time. With consistency, kindness and ongoing training, he has every opportunity to continue growing into a wonderful companion. Due to his current behavioural needs, Neddy would be happiest as the only dog in the home and is not suitable for homes with cats or other small animals. If you're looking for a rewarding young dog and are willing to invest in helping him become the best version of himself, he will repay you with loyalty, playfulness and a personality that's well worth getting to know.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
