About Marley
Marley loves cuddles, kisses and despite his size he likes to lie his head on your lap. He will sleep on the couch next to you and greet you with wagging tail and a toy in his mouth.....and little zoomies of excitement. He has the playfulness of a pup but the chill of an older 28kg dog.
Marley is enthusiastic, affectionate and clever. He is sensitive which means he can be timid to loud noises and sudden movements. He does have a quick recovery. He settled into his foster home quickly and loves people. Marley takes time to feel comfortable with the vets and handling.
Marley would suit a single animal home, where he can have all the love and care for himself. With other dogs he is over enthusiastic which can be intimidating to them as he does not read their body language well. He is not be suitable with cats and small animals. A dog savy adopter who uses positive reinforcement is Marley's ❤️ language.
Marley wants and craves access to a garden where he can play, sunbake and toilet without asking to be let out.
Marley likes to steal paper and tissues from the coffee table which is a great excuse to not have to pay your bills as he is the ideal shredder. He is proud of this skill. In his previous home he did not have toys as he liked to shred them, but he does have plenty in his foster home which he adores.
Marley is food motivated, which helps him be easily trained with it but he can put on weight easily too. His foster carer has made a lot of effort in getting him to his ideal weight and will help you know what to feed him. When walking he is a good boy, but he is strong. He likes a long line which means he will not pull and has freedom of movement.
For adopters interested in Marley (within 30km from Frankston) the foster carer is a qualified behavioural trainer who will assist with settling and supporting him in his new home for free. Are you looking for a love bug to lighten up your life?
