Marley

Marley loves cuddles, kisses and to lie on your lap. He will sleep on the couch next to you and greet you with wagging tail and a toy in his mouth.....and little zoomies of excitement. He has the playfulness of a pup but the chill of an older dog. He is looking to find a companion and a friend who will give him ear massage and tummy rubs.

Marley is enthusiastic, affectionate and clever. He is sensitive which means he can be timid to loud noises and sudden movements. He does have a quick recovery. He settled into his foster home quickly and loves people. Marley takes time to feel comfortable with the vets and handling in this space. He communicates well if he feels uncomfortable with handling. Marley has a wonderful foster carer who will guide you with all his quirks.

Marley would suit a single animal home, where he can have all the love and care for himself. With other dogs he is over enthusiastic which can be intimidating to them as he does not read their body language well. He would not be suitable with cats and small animals. Marley wants and craves access to a garden where he can play, sunbake and toilet without asking to be let out.

Marley likes to steal paper and tissues from the coffee table which is a great excuse to not have to pay your bills as he is the ideal shredder. He is proud of this skill. In his previous home he did not have toys as he liked to shred them, but he does have plenty in his foster home which he adores. Marley greets his foster carer every morning with a toy in his mouth.

Marley is food motivated, which helps him be easily trained with it but he can put on weight easily too. His foster carer has made a lot of effort in getting him to his ideal weight and will help you know what to feed him. When walking he is a good boy, he likes a long line which means he will not pull and has freedom of movement.
