About Lola
Hello there! I’m Lola, and I’m officially accepting applications for my forever family.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR LOLA
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM

My Ideal Home:
• I’ll need daily exercise - walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• Ongoing training and guidance with basic manners will help me grow into a well-behaved companion.
• I want to be part of the family indoors - not left outside without interaction.
• Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
• I’d love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
• A good-quality dry food diet will help support my dental health.
• Regular grooming and brushing will keep me looking and feeling my best.
• Most importantly, I’m looking for lots of love and attention from my family.
• When I get excited, I can be a little bouncy, so any children in the home would need to feel comfortable and confident around an energetic, enthusiastic dog joining the family.
• Socialisation is just as important as training. Taking me to new places, introducing me to all sorts of people, dogs, and other animals will help me grow into a confident, well-adjusted dog.
• Training, training, training - it’s essential that I receive consistent guidance in every aspect of my life so I can become the very best companion as I mature.
Dog Compatibility:
• A friendly, calm, gentle dog companion may suit me, as boisterous dogs can be overwhelming. I’ll benefit from gradual, positive socialisation. If I’m your only dog, I will need regular opportunities to socialise with other dogs.
Cat / small animal:
• I was unsure around cats at the shelter and may become more inquisitive as my confidence grows. If I join a home with a cat, they’ll need to be dog-savvy and introductions must be gradual and well managed.
My Paw-some Perks:
• I’m highly food motivated, which makes training lots of fun and helps me learn quickly.
• I’m gentle and placid in nature, and I’ve had some basic obedience training — I’m generally a well-mannered dog. I know my basic commands like sit and shake and I’m always eager to learn more.
• I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I’m quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
• I’m exuberant and full of beans, always ready for fun and adventure.
Training:
• Once I’m settled, I can walk nicely, but I may pull if something grabs my attention or if I decide I’d like to head in a different direction. I can also be strong or a bit skittish if startled, so a harness or head halter would really help while I continue my training.
• I can be a little bouncy when excited, but consistent training will help me learn calmer behaviours.
• I’m shy when in unfamiliar environments, and when entering buildings or homes. I’ll need a patient family who will allow me indoors, move at my pace, and gently build my confidence through ongoing socialisation.
Please Note: You’ll only be able to meet Lola if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well
