About Charlie
Hello there! I’m Charlie, and I’m officially accepting applications for my forever family.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR CHARLIE
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM

My Ideal Home:
• I’ll need daily exercise — walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• Ongoing training and guidance with basic manners will help me grow into a well-behaved companion.
• I want to be part of the family indoors - not left outside without interaction.
• Secure fencing is essential to keep me safe.
• I’d love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
• Most importantly, I’m looking for lots of love and attention from my family.
• Socialisation is just as important as training. Taking me to new places, introducing me to all sorts of people, dogs, and other animals will help me grow into a confident, well-adjusted dog.
• Training, training, training — it’s essential that I receive consistent guidance in every aspect of my life so I can become the very best companion as I mature.
Puppy:
• I’m still a puppy, which means I will chew, nip, have accidents, bark, and sometimes be a little destructive. With patience, consistency, and training, I’ll learn — but I need a family fully committed to putting in the time and effort to help me succeed. I am ready to learn and adapt – how I grow and mature will reflect the love, structure and guidance you provide.
Dog Compatibility:
• I’d love a friendly dog playmate who can keep me company when my family isn’t home, or a household where someone is around most of the time. I can feel lonely and a little anxious when left alone, which may lead to barking or destructive behaviour if left all by myself.
• If I’m your only dog, I will require regular opportunities to socialise with other dogs.
Cat / small animal:
• I would be fine going to a home with a dog friendly cat.
My Paw-some Perks:
• I’m highly food motivated, which makes training lots of fun and helps me learn quickly.
• I’m very social and happy to hang out with other friendly dogs — total social butterfly!
• I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I’m quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
Training:
• I haven’t had any formal training yet, so I’ll need help with all my basic manners and life skills. The good news is I love food, which will make positive training lots of fun and rewarding for me.
• I’ve only recently started learning to walk on lead at the shelter. I’m improving every day, but I can still be a little slow, erratic or fearful at times. With patience and regular walks, I’ll soon gain confidence and enjoy my daily strolls.
• I’m not housetrained yet, so I’ll need guidance and consistency to learn.
Please Note: You’ll only be able to meet Charlie if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well
