Ruby, the greyhound

Lovely Ruby has been in foster for a few months now and has absolutely blossomed into pet life. She’s affectionate, very clever, wonderfully goofy and full of personality. She currently lives with several greyhounds and a whippet and gets along splendidly with her furry housemates.

Ruby has absolutely no concept of personal space when she’s excited! She loves throwing herself wholeheartedly into affection, whether that means leaning all over her humans or getting cosy with her canine friends. When she’s not being a loveable goofball, you’ll usually find her roaching the day away in a ridiculous sleeping position or stretched out in the garden soaking up the sunshine.

She’s also a busy little bee when the mood strikes, always on the lookout for the next great toy. Ruby is incredibly smart and thrives with clear boundaries and routine. Being very food motivated makes training lots of fun too. She already knows "drop" and "high five", and when food is being prepared in the open-plan kitchen, she knows to head into her crate and patiently wait.

Ruby has made fantastic progress with her independence. While being left initially took some getting used to, she can now comfortably spend up to 10 hours at home with access to the garden. That’s a huge achievement and shows just how beautifully she has settled into her foster routine.

Ruby would love a home with another dog who can appreciate her goofy ways and be a companion for lounging, playing and generally enjoying life together. A home with a garden would also make this sun-loving girl very happy.

Ruby really is one of a kind. She’s clever, affectionate, entertaining and just a little bit ridiculous in all the best ways. If you’re looking for a hound who will make you laugh, keep you company and fill your home with personality, lovely Ruby could be your girl. 💕
