About Haku & Toto
Haku & Toto are two desexed male cats available for adoption in Deepdene (Boroondara, VIC).
Toto is a cat who has never met a stranger. He cuddles up on the couch, drapes himself in a sunbeam until his coat looks like it is glowing, and greets every visitor like an old friend. Haku is quietly particular, deciding who gets close, and once he has decided you are alright, he rises onto his back legs to say hello properly.
Between Toto's love of company and Haku's love of a good spring chase, these two keep each other entertained for hours on end.
They suit a household that is quiet during the day and full when it comes home, the kind of home where two cats who already have each other never run out of things to do.
A little about Haku and Toto:
🐾 Toto is the cuddle bug of the pair, happiest when he is sleeping on you or rubbing against your legs
🐾 Haku talks constantly, greeting each morning with a chorus that carries through the house
🐾 The pair are inseparable playmates, chasing each other and Haku's beloved springs from room to room
🐾 Haku can hear a spring drop from anywhere in the house and comes running every single time
🐾 Toto's coat catches the sun so well he looks like he is glowing when he suns himself
Mornings begin with Haku's own kind of alarm, a vocal lap of the house, before the day settles into sunbeams, play fights, and Toto's talent for finding the softest spot on the couch.
Toto's affection is generous and immediate: sleeping against you, rubbing against your legs, settling in wherever you are.
Haku's hellos happen on his own terms, a brush past your leg, a chat from across the room, a chosen spot nearby rather than up in your arms.
New faces get a considered welcome rather than a shy retreat; he simply weighs things up from a comfortable distance first. Give him the space to approach in his own time, and you will find he does, warming up in a way that feels earned.
Toto is calm enough for a quiet afternoon and playful enough to keep an active household on its toes, and Haku matches that range, saving his energy for spring chases and his quieter moments for cuddling with Toto.
Both boys would flourish in an adult household with guardians who read the room, a cuddle for Toto, a chat instead of a pat for Haku, and they already share their home happily with other cats.
Picture a Sunday afternoon: Toto stretched out in a puddle of sun, glowing as if lit from within, while Haku sends a spring skittering across the floor and tears off after it in gleeful pursuit.
Haku and Toto have found their best friend in each other, ready to welcome someone into that circle. The morning greetings, the spring chases, the sunbeam naps- it is all waiting for the right home to join in.

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
Home2Home currently operates a ‘pay what you choose’ system for cat adoption fees. This means that adopters will be able to choose an adoption fee amount that is suitable for them. All adoption fees are used to support PetRescue's life-saving programs, including Home2Home.
