About Josie
Josie is a delightful seven-month-old Groodle with a stunning appearance and an even bigger heart. She's like a clumsy baby giraffe at the moment being all legs and paws lol Josie has an insatiable appetite for love and affection, making her an ideal companion for those who can provide her with plenty of attention. As a young puppy, she comes with all the typical puppy traits, including boundless energy, a tendency to get overly excited, and a need for structure and training in the home.
Josie thrives on being part of a family, enjoying the comfort of being inside the home and as close to her human companions as possible.
TO APPLY FOR HER ADOPTION YOU MUST COMPLETE HER APPLICATION FORM WHICH IS LOCATED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PERSONAlity section
In her foster care environment, Josie has been living with two adults, two teenagers, and her four-legged foster sister. She adores her human family and her canine foster sibling. When Josie is introduced to new people, she does take some time to warm up to them due to being a bit cautious as a young pup. Once she builds up trust with people, she gets quite excited when her humans return home from work or school. Josie can become overly excited, and her beautiful and playful personality shines through.
She loves to follow her humans around the house and is quick to join them in the kitchen, eager to oversee any food preparation.
Josie’s favorite activities include indulging in treats, playing with toys, roughhousing, and engaging in zoomies with her four-legged foster sister.
She cherishes morning cuddles on the bed with her foster mom and dad, enjoys going for walks, and relishes being inside with her humans, receiving pats and tummy rubs.
Playing ball is also something she is learning to enjoy
Josie came into foster care with some basic training. She knows how to sit and will do so for her food and when told to “go to your mat.” However, ongoing training will be essential, particularly regarding her walking habits.
Josie tends to pull on the leash at the start of walks due to her excitement and shows a keen interest in other dogs.
She is still learning to walk politely on lead and this will need ongoing training to improve.. Loud noises during walks can be a bit frightening for her, so training and reassurance are necessary. Her forever family will need to be dedicated to continuing her training, given her young age as she spreads her wings as she enters her teens.
Josie is a velcro dog who craves attention, cuddles, and affection. She has traveled in a car, sitting in a dog seat on short trips, and she handles car rides well.
At times, when she becomes overly excited, she may give little nips to her four-legged foster sister or humans, so she’s better suited to older kids. Josie is always with her foster sister for company, so we are ideally looking for a male companion who is playful but will also be a good role model for a young dog. She would benefit from a slow introduction to other dogs as she doesn’t like dogs approaching quickly or being overly exuberant until she gets to know them. She would thrive with interactions and playtime with other dogs.
When it comes to food, bathing, hygiene, sleeping, and exercise, Josie requires some supervision, especially if she is living with another dog. Mealtimes need monitoring to ensure she doesn’t eat the other resident dog’s food, and a firm ‘no’ has been somewhat effective in managing this behavior. She loves treats. Josie can go overnight without needing a toilet. She is good in the home if she is toileted regularly. Josie sleeps on her big fluffy mat in her foster parent’s bedroom, although it may take her some time to settle into her bed.
Inside the home, Josie has been both an inside and outside dog, with access to the indoors while her humans are at school and work. She follows her humans everywhere, so be prepared to say goodbye to your privacy! Fortunately, she has demonstrated no destructive behaviors inside or outside the home. However, she will need toys and stimulation when left alone to keep her entertained.
Please note were were advised that she should not be fed anything with chicken
Josie is a loving and energetic Groodle puppy who is eager to find her forever home. She needs a family that can provide her with the love, attention, and training she requires to thrive. With her charming personality and affectionate nature, Josie is sure to bring joy and companionship to her new family.
A family committed to ongoing training.
A family who is able to afford her regular grooming.
A male dog is preferred that is playful but also calm and stable to provide a good role model for a young pup.
As Josie feels a lot more confident having a Doggo friend we are seeking a home with another dog who is kind and of a good age that loves to play but can tolerate a big goofy puppy.
No apartment living will be considered.
No children under 10, a calm home is required.
