Meet Chance, a beautiful young boy with a big body, a big smile and an even bigger heart.
Chance has been identified by the vet as an AmStaff-type dog. Given his size — 33 kg at just 12 months of age — we think he may also have some Mastiff-type influence, so his breed is listed as AmStaff x Mastiff-type mix, best estimate.
What matters most, though, is that Chance is a very, very nice dog.
He has many of the qualities people love so much in AmStaff-type dogs — loyal, affectionate, people-focused, playful and full of heart. These dogs are known for forming deep bonds with their humans, and Chance is the sort of boy who will thrive as a much-loved member of the family.
Chance is still a young dog, so he will need daily exercise, mental stimulation and kind, consistent guidance as he matures. He is intelligent and likely to respond beautifully to positive, reward-based training. Like many strong, sensitive dogs, he will do best with people who are calm, confident and fair.
At 33 kg, Chance is a large and powerful young dog, so his ideal home will be one that understands bigger dogs and can manage him kindly and confidently. He is not a dog to be left outside and forgotten. Chance is looking for inclusion, companionship and a proper place in family life.
Although Chance is gentle and mild-mannered, he is still a puppy and probably too big and strong to be a suitable companion for very young children. Any interactions with children should always be supervised.
He is dog-friendly but untested with cats. Where large dogs are concerned, introductions to other animals should always be handled thoughtfully and carefully.
Chance is a handsome, affectionate and very promising young dog who deserves the chance to become someone’s loyal best mate.
