About Hazel & Sage
Hazel & Sage – Bonded Pair of Beautiful, Sassy Sisters Looking for Their Forever Home 🐱💕
Hazel and Sage are two gorgeous female cats, approximately 4 years old, who were rescued as wild/stray cats by a kind-hearted person. They’ve formed a close sisterly bond and must be adopted together.
Currently, they’re living in their foster carer’s bedroom (due to other cats and large dogs in the home). She has thoughtfully installed a cat enclosure attached to the window so they can safely enjoy the outdoors during the day and come inside to sleep at night. They would thrive in a calmer, more spacious environment where they can freely explore and roam.
Personality & Behavior
These girls are shy and gentle souls with a little attitude. They need their space respected at first while they build trust. In the beginning, they’ll approach you on their own terms, sniffing and exploring without wanting to be touched right away.
Once they feel safe, they become very loving they’ll sit near you, head-bump for attention, and enjoy pats on their backs and heads.
Sage is especially affectionate when relaxed, she’ll happily walk all over you, drool with happiness, and soak up the pats.
Hazel will let you know when she’s had enough with a gentle little bite. She absolutely loves kisses on the head, while Sage prefers not to have them.
They’re playful and entertaining to watch, they love chasing each other up and down cat trees, zooming around together. At night, they enjoy sleeping at the end of the bed (often taking turns) or curled up in their cat caves.
Hazel is a foodie who was the runt of her litter and nearly didn’t make it. She loves to eat and would happily graze all day if allowed. Sage is a much pickier eater, she prefers dry food but will have some wet food if Hazel hasn’t finished it first.
They are sweet, playful, and full of personality once they warm up. With patience and respect for their boundaries, they will reward you with genuine affection and companionship.
Ideal Home
A quiet, patient household that understands shy cats and will give them time to adjust. Preferably a home without large dogs or too many other cats so they can have more freedom to roam. Access to vertical space (cat trees, shelves), windows to watch the world, and safe enrichment.
We are also very open to a foster-to-adopt or long-term foster arrangement if a forever home isn’t immediately available. They would love more space to explore!
Hazel and Sage have already come so far from their wild beginnings. They just need the right understanding person (or couple/family) to give them the forever home they deserve.
Hazel and Sage have been desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and are available for adoption right meow. Currently located with their amazing foster mum in Emerald.
❤️ Ready to give Hazel & Sage the home they’ve been waiting for?
If you have a calm home and plenty of love and patience to offer these two special girls, please get in touch!
About Us
Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.
Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.
Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.
As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.
All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.
Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
How You Can Help

We are always in need of foster carers. If you have a safe, loving temporary home and would like to help us care for a cat on their journey to their forever family, please get in touch. The more foster homes we have, the more cats we can save.

Adoption details
We try to make things very easy and straight forward while at the same time making sure we are matching the right cat to the right home.
The first step in the adoption process is a quick chat over the phone to make you are able meet the cats needs and your home is a good fit for the cats personality.
From there we will organize a meet and greet the cats foster home where you will be able to see the cat in action and get a gauge of their personality.
Once you have adopted you new furry feline friend we offer ongoing support and you are welcome to contact us anytime if you have questions, concerns or need advice.
We work hard to make sure that each cat is a good fit for their new home but in the unlikely even that things do not work out we have a 21 day cooling off period and you are more than welcome to return the cat to us during that time.
We will happily refund 50% of the adoption fee or you are welcome to donate this refund to assist with the ongoing cost of the animals care.
