About blanche
Meet Foxy! Foxy is a sweet, gentle, and affectionate girl who can be quite worried when meeting new people or entering unfamiliar environments. She has shown some growling and alarm barking, especially toward men, so she’ll need a calm, quiet household with structure and routine to help her feel safe. Once she trusts you, she becomes a loving companion who enjoys being indoors and spending time close to her family.
Because Foxy has previously jumped a fence to follow people, she will require secure 6‑foot fencing and someone home during her first few days to help her settle. She may feel more comfortable being left indoors with a long‑lasting chew to keep her occupied. Foxy walks nicely on lead and responds well to reassurance from people she knows. She’s curious about toys but doesn’t quite know how to play yet, so her new family may need to show her the fun.
Her love of food makes her a great candidate for daily enrichment and positive reinforcement, especially during situations that feel scary or new. Older children who understand dog body language and can give her space when needed will be important, and they must meet her at adoption. Providing her with a crate or cozy den will help her feel secure when she’s overwhelmed.
Foxy will need to be the only dog in the home, as she has shown low tolerance and significant worry around other dogs. With patience, consistency, and gentle guidance, Foxy will blossom into a devoted and affectionate family member.
