Hi, my name is Mellow. I’m a young, healthy cat with a cute freckle on my nose, but I did recently get into a bit of strife. I was hit by a car and rescued off the road by the Rangers, who got me safely to the vet. Perth Rescue Angels then raised money for all my medical care.

My injuries were pretty serious, my hip was dislocated, one leg was fractured, and another leg was badly bruised with cuts and scrapes. I also had to be assessed for spinal damage. At one stage, I looked like a patchwork quilt with all my shaving, stitches, cuts, and staples.

Thankfully, I’ve made an amazing recovery! I did lose one of my legs, so I’m now a tripod cat, but that certainly doesn’t slow me down. Through all my surgeries and medications, I stayed the cheerful, fun-loving, mellow guy I’ve always been, and even became friends with all the vet staff. Now I’m ready to find my forever family, preferably one that won’t let me play on the road again!

I’m basically the perfect house cat. I love playing with toys, I always use my litter tray, I never leave dinner behind, and I enjoy plenty of naps. Sometimes you might even hear me chatting to myself if you’re busy. I’m confident, friendly, and love greeting visitors at the house. I’m adaptable and would fit into almost any loving home. All I really need now is a family with room in their home and heart for me and my three legs.

Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
I enjoy hanging out with other cats, teenagers, and older people, but I haven’t met any tiny humans or dogs yet. I think I’d probably like them if they were gentle and introductions were done slowly. I’m very adaptable like that!

I’d love a younger cat friend I could wrestle and play with.

My PURR-fect home would be just about anywhere! A busy household would be great because I love keeping tabs on everyone and being involved in daily life. I’m happy sleeping in my own room at night, or I can sleep with you if you’d prefer, I’m easy-going like that.

Perth Rescue Angels recommends all cats are indoor only, unless they have access to a secure cat enclosure.

Medical Notes: Mellow sustained injuries prior to coming into care that resulted in amputation of his left hind leg. Due to this condition, he will need to be a strictly indoor only cat, although may have access to a fully enclosed cat-run.
