If you're looking for a dog who wants to be involved in absolutely everything you do, Indi might just be your perfect match. At 8 months old, this happy, affectionate young Staffy is full of personality, eager to learn and completely devoted to his people.
Indi is a true people dog. While he gets along beautifully with other dogs and would love a tolerant canine companion to play with, he'll always choose his humans if given the option. Whether you're cooking dinner, watching TV, working in the garden or simply relaxing on the couch, Indi wants to be right there with you. Once he's burned off his puppy energy, he's more than happy to curl up for a cuddle.

He's a social, well-meaning young dog who is great with other dogs, respectful when they tell him they've had enough. He has been good with children, although like many adolescent Staffies, he can be very excited when meeting people and may jump up or get mouthy. This isn't aggression, just excitement and enthusiasm that will continue to improve as he matures and learns better self-control.

Indi is a clever boy who genuinely enjoys learning. He's very food motivated, making training enjoyable and rewarding. In a short time he's already learnt his name, can sit, comes when called, knows "up" and "down" for the couch, and is learning "leave it." He thrives on routine and responds well to clear, consistent guidance. His lead manners still need plenty of work, but he's young, eager to please and has all the ingredients to become a wonderful companion.

Toilet training is progressing well, with Indi letting his carers know when he needs to go outside during the day, though overnight is still a work in progress. He's happy entertaining himself with toys for short periods, but like most young Staffies, he much prefers having his people nearby.

👉 We're seeking a special home for Indi as he has obsessive-compulsive tendencies that cause him to chase his tail and bite at his back legs. This behaviour is currently being managed successfully with medication and a training collar that uses a harmless spray interruption to redirect him. We've also found the behaviour is significantly reduced when he's receiving plenty of exercise, enrichment and attention. His new family will need to be committed to continuing this management and working with their veterinarian to ensure he continues to thrive.

Indi is available on a Foster to Adopt arrangement while he completes his veterinary care. We're looking for someone who sees beyond his extra needs and recognises the wonderful dog underneath. With structure, consistency and lots of love, Indi will reward his family with endless loyalty, affection and plenty of Staffy smiles.
