About Melina
🐾💕 Meet Melina (Miss Mel) 💕🐾
4 years and 7 months of Pug perfection, hilarious dinner dances, cuddles on demand, and a heart that's learning the world isn't so scary after all. ❤️
Melina (or Miss Mel, as she's affectionately known) has come into care through a private surrender due to a change in her family's circumstances, through absolutely no fault of her own.
Since arriving in foster care, Miss Mel has been soaking up all the love, cuddles and attention she's received, and every day her confidence continues to grow.
Like many dogs experiencing a big change, Melina arrived feeling a little unsure of the world around her.
Every little noise.
Every unexpected movement.
Every new experience.
Would send her jumping.
The world felt like a very big place.
But with patience, kindness and gentle reassurance, we've watched this beautiful little Pug slowly begin to blossom.
And what a privilege it's been.
While Melina can still be a little nervous when meeting new people or adjusting to new environments, she gains confidence every single day. Once she realises she's safe, her true personality shines through...
And she's absolutely delightful.
If you're sitting down...
Don't expect to stay lap-free for long.
Melina firmly believes laps were invented especially for Pugs.
She absolutely craves affection and isn't afraid to remind you if she thinks you've stopped patting her a little too soon.
A gentle paw.
A little nudge.
Or simply planting herself directly on your lap.
Message received. 😂
Despite loving cuddles, Melina also has a wonderfully playful side.
She loves racing around the yard with the other dogs, happily joins in games with toys, and enjoys the occasional burst of zoomies that reminds everyone she's still a young girl at heart.
She has settled beautifully with dogs of all sizes, including Staffies, French Bulldogs and Griffons, and now happily plays, cuddles and snoozes beside them.
Because she enjoys the company of other dogs so much, we feel Melina would thrive in a home with another friendly, confident dog who can continue helping her build confidence and enjoy life.
Meal times are where Miss Mel's true superstar personality comes to life.
The moment dinner is mentioned...
The performance begins.
Spins.
Head shakes.
Happy dances.
Excited little grumbles.
It's a full theatrical production that deserves a standing ovation every single evening. 🤣
The best part?
Despite all the excitement, she'll still politely sit and wait until she's told she can eat.
Smart, food motivated and absolutely adorable!
Melina enjoys going for walks and walks beautifully on lead. She happily explores at her own pace, taking in all the interesting sights and smells around her.
When she's not out adventuring, you'll usually find her exactly where every respectable Pug belongs...
Curled up on the couch.
Or stretched out on the outdoor lounge, soaking up the sunshine.
Like many Pugs, Melina has a few funny little quirks.
She'll happily follow another dog through the doggy door...
But if she's on her own?
She'll often just sit there looking at it until someone gives it a little push. 🤣
Rain?
No thank you.
Wet grass?
Absolutely not.
Princess paws are simply not designed for soggy mornings.
Melina travels beautifully in a crate in the car, but when bedtime rolls around she'd much rather be curled up on a comfy dog bed—or even better, snuggled up in a human bed.
She also has quite the healthy appetite and food is definitely one of her favourite things. Thankfully, she has happily enjoyed a variety of foods and treats in foster care with no signs of any allergies.
She has even been around the resident Quaker parrot and simply watches from a distance, showing very little interest. Cats, however, remain untested.
Melina is toilet trained, although she will happily remind you that rainy weather is not suitable for toilet breaks. 🤭
More than anything, Melina is looking for a patient family who will allow her a little time to settle into her new home.
A family who understands that confidence doesn't always happen overnight.
Who will celebrate the little wins.
Continue building her confidence.
And shower her with all the love and attention she craves.
Because once Melina feels safe...
She absolutely blossoms.
The nervous little girl disappears.
In her place is a funny, affectionate, playful little Pug who adores her people with her whole heart.
She'll make you laugh with her dinner-time dances.
Smile every time she demands another cuddle.
And remind you every single day just how rewarding it is to earn the trust of a dog who simply needed someone to believe in her.
💕 If you're looking for a sweet little Pug who will make you laugh, fill your home with love, and reward your patience with unwavering devotion, Miss Mel may just be the perfect addition to your family.
🐾 Professional lap occupier.
🍽️ Dinner-time dancing champion.
☀️ Sunshine enthusiast.
🥹 Blossoming brave girl.
❤️ Ready to spend the rest of her life exactly where she belongs—with a family who will love her forever.

Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email.
