About Chief
❤️ Hi, I’m Chief!
I’m deaf—but don’t let that fool you. I’m adorable, incredibly smart, full of life, and I absolutely love being with my people.
I don’t hear the world like other dogs, but I’ve never let that slow me down. I’ve learnt to communicate through hand signals, and since I was a young puppy, I’ve been trained using an e-collar for recall. I naturally like to stay close to my family and have no interest in wandering off on my own.
I’m a big softie at heart. I love cuddles, affection, and simply being wherever my people are. If you’re outside, I want to be with you. If you’re inside, I want to be right there too. Being part of the family is all I’ve ever wanted.
I’m also a very social boy. I get along wonderfully with other dogs and would love a home with a canine companion to share life with. I’m fantastic with children, making me a wonderful family dog who’s ready to be included in all of life’s adventures.
Like any true Red Heeler, I’m intelligent, eager to learn, and thrive when I have room to stretch my legs and use my brain. I’d love a home with space to run, play, and explore. At the end of the day though, I’m not an outside dog—I belong inside with my family, curled up nearby after a day of fun. I’m also crate trained, making it easy for me to settle into my new home.
My deafness doesn’t define me—it’s simply part of who I am. What you’ll notice is my happy personality, my loving nature, my cheeky smile, and the way I form incredibly strong bonds with my people.
🏡 My ideal home
✔️ Plenty of room to run and explore.
✔️ An inside home where I’m part of the family.
✔️ Another friendly dog to be my mate.
✔️ Great with children.
✔️ No cats.
✔️ Crate trained.
✔️ Someone happy to continue using hand signals and my established e-collar recall training.
If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who’s always ready for an adventure and will happily smooch you at the end of the day, I’d love to meet you. I may never hear you call my name, but I’ll always have my eyes on you.
Medical notes
Chief is congenitally deaf. He communicates using hand signals and has been trained from a young age with an e-collar for reliable recall. His deafness does not require any medication or ongoing medical treatment.
