About Poppy
i>Poppy is a desexed female Domestic Medium Hair available for adoption in Holroyd (Western Sydney, NSW).
Poppy is a cat with a genuine sense of comedy. She turns ordinary moments, like the arrival of a box or the sound of a treat packet, into something worth watching.
She's wonderfully social and rarely far from the action, keeping an eye on things from close by or a little distance, on her own terms.
Independent, playful and always up for an adventure, she brings a lively energy to a household while still being entirely capable of entertaining herself.
A little about Poppy:
🐾 Adores a cardboard box more than most store-bought toys
🐾 Talks her way through the day, always keeping up her side of the conversation
🐾 Delights in bringing you her favourite catch to show off
🐾 Lights up at the sound of a treat packet and a good play session
🐾 Loves a good chunk of her day outside, soaking up the sun in the yard
Poppy's days follow a happy rhythm. Mornings begin with breakfast, and she likes an audience while she eats, a small ritual that says a lot about her confident, people-loving nature.
From there she heads outside to explore the yard or balcony at her own pace, before an afternoon nap and an evening play session before bed.
Poppy shows her love in specific, deliberate ways. A head-butt when she wants attention. A slow, sleepy blink from across the room. A running commentary of chirps and chats throughout the day. These are the moments that make up her affection, offered on her terms rather than yours.
She brings that same easy warmth to new faces. Poppy isn't shy and will happily go over to say hello. New faces get the same warm welcome, just with an unhurried hello while she gets her bearings.
A calm, adult household is where Poppy's quirky, independent personality really shines. She'd love secure outdoor access, so her territory stays entirely her own; she's not one for sharing her space with other cats. She'll suit a guardian who's ready to enjoy her big personality and let her set the pace of the friendship.
Picture Poppy claiming the sunniest patch of the yard for an afternoon stretch, then trotting inside with a toy in her mouth, ready to show you the goods. There's a little theatre to her day, and she loves having someone there to appreciate it.
Poppy is a cat with plenty of personality and a lot of love to give the right person. Come and meet the little comedian who's ready to make your home a funnier, warmer place.
FAQ
Does Poppy get along with other cats?
She's much happier without another cat to share her space; human company is what she's really after, and lots of it.
Is Poppy an affectionate cat?
Very, just in her own way; think head-butts, slow blinks and a steady stream of chat rather than long cuddle sessions. Give her space to choose the moment, and you'll find she's full of affection.
Does Poppy need outdoor access?
She'd love it. Poppy does best with secure access so she has a space that's fully hers.
What kind of household suits Poppy best?
A calm, adult home where she can be the centre of attention without competing for it, that's where her big personality really gets room to shine.

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
Home2Home currently operates a ‘pay what you choose’ system for cat adoption fees. This means that adopters will be able to choose an adoption fee amount that is suitable for them. All adoption fees are used to support PetRescue's life-saving programs, including Home2Home.
