Bernie

Bernie is a 10-year-old puggy gentleman with a heart full of love and a gentle soul to match. This sweet boy is looking for a special family who can offer him comfort, patience, and plenty of companionship in his golden years.

Bernie absolutely loves being close to his people. Whether you're pottering around the house, relaxing in the garden, or settling in for a quiet evening, Bernie will happily be by your side. He gets along well with other dogs but would also be perfectly content as an only dog, provided his family is home often and can give him the company he desires.

Daily walks are one of Bernie's favourite things. He may not be the fastest walker these days, but he gets excited to head out and sniff every interesting scent along the way. Bernie is no fuss in the car and happily naps on drives.

Bernie does have some special needs that require a little extra care (more info will be given to short listed applicants).
- Bernie has myelopathy (spinal condition), which has caused weakness in his legs and some incontinence. Despite this, Bernie remains mobile.
- Daily tacrolimus drops for dry eye (this must be continued for life)
- Ongoing weight loss required

Ideal home:
- Someone home often where he can be by your side
- Single-level house, no stairs
- Short daily walks
- People full of patience and love, willing to give him the extra care he deserves

While Bernie may need a little extra support, he doesn't let that stop him enjoying life. He is still full of personality, loves exploring the garden, enjoys his daily sniffy walks, and simply wants to be wherever his people are.
