About Zara
⚠️ Assisted rehoming ⚠️
Large Female German Shepherd Maremma mix 🐶
Zara is a German Shepherd Maremma mix weighing around 35kg.
She's a little smaller than your average German Shepherd and has the perfect mix of independence and affection.
Zara is the kind of girl who enjoys doing her own thing and relaxing in her space, but when she's in the mood for attention, she'll happily join you on the couch or sneak into bed for a cuddle.
She is house trained, knows commands including sit, stay, wait and shake, and is a smart cookie—even if treats don't impress her much!
Her favourite things in life are sticks, squeaky toys, and spending time with her people. Zara has been around children without any issues and is generally a calm, easy-going companion.
She can be a little standoffish when meeting new dogs and may react depending on the other dog's temperament, so slow introductions work best for her.
Zara doesn't have a problem with cats 🐈, although like many dogs, she'll happily chase anything that runs so best with inside cats!
She is looking for a loving home that understands her independent nature and will give her the time and space to settle in.
If you're looking for a loyal best friend who is equal parts independent adventurer and couch cuddle buddy, Zara could be the perfect addition to your family. ❤️
Zara has been a very loved girl ❣️.
🧭 Location: North Bundaberg but will travel for right home

Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need-Brisbane website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. Our emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
